Kamado Joe

I switched from Kamado Joe from Traeger for the direct flame sear and char crust capability. I am extremely disappointed to see how bad this app is compared to the Traeger app. Traeger has 10x the recipes, a search function to find a recipe, and videos. Kamado app can’t even change the temperature on my grill without three repeat attempts. Recommend they immediately invest in the app to keep up with their competition.

First cook and the app worked great. Love the graph and time function. Raised temp in app to finish off and sear sausage and it worked like a charm. Only improvement I’d request is the ability to name your sessions and allow notes. That way I can keep accurate times and temps per cook.

Love my Konnected Joe but the app is total trash. Never works! And when it does work, the next cook and won’t connect. Have deleted and restarted the app repeatedly. It never connects. We pay too much money for these products to have features that are advertised but don’t work!

Once I start the app and go to the control area, a window pops up that prevents me from taking any action in the app. I have the latest version on iphone 15. Super annoying

It takes just a small amount of time before you get the smoke just write It took 6 cooks before I learned to let my smoker do the cook at get out of its way.

Mine will barely show a temp then the app goes white and I can’t do anything other than restart

The app is great for manually checking everything without going out to the grill and setting your temp. There are basic features however that are just not useful at all. 1. All the probe temp targets are the same, therefore useless. for example, no matter which type meat you choose, the rare, medium rare, medium rare, etc are the same temps for poultry, pork, beef, and fish. MY $10 probe thermometer knows those don't all cook at the same temp. 2. Editing timer and temperature is not easy. You can't add time to the timer until it reaches 0. This is a simple feature. For temp, when you set it and decide to change it, sometimes you can not do so, as hitting confim will not change the displayed set temp.

The app keeps telling me that there is an update but a white screen pops up over everything so I can’t update or control the grill. Please fix asap!

App syncs and connects to grill easily. Session plots are nice. It would be nice if it had more features like the Thermoworks products. It would be nice to be able to rename sessions to remind me of my cook instead of just a date. It would also be nice to customize the probe names if I was cooking different meats. For probes, the temps for smoked items like brisket should include a 205F temp target since that’s what bbq is all about. Also need to be able to delete sessions too.

Easy to use on the Konnected Joe. Makes grilling super easy. I like how I can set my temperature on the app and the grill does all the work. Also the session graphing is super cool - you can see cooking history with times/temps. Good job KJ!
