KEF Stream FAQ
Is KEF Stream free?
Yes, KEF Stream is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is KEF Stream legit?
⚠️ The KEF Stream app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
After almost two years struggling with KEF stream and KEF control with my LSX speakers, I’m amazed to see that the developers still havent fixed any problems so far, despite an avalanche of bug fixes. It’s even worse than it was two years ago. Now it cant find my speakers at all 😡
Terrible app(s)
It’s time for KEF to provide LS50W/LSX users with some updates!
Connection lost
Newest update from end of December 2020
«Connection lost. Trying to reconnect»
Cant find speakers 4 of 5 times. Speakers are wired to the internet.
Ok when it works
The sound is good when it works, but often the app can’t find the speaker...
Update 1.7.5
Fixes the freezed screen on iPad using the Tidal app on LS50 Wireless.
Great speakers but horrible app
Iphone gets warm and battery drains. Really bad app. Disconnects from speakers also, every time i use it
Totally bad.
Speakers are perfect but the app is really bad work. Loosing connection with the speakers. Using so much battery so Iphone getting really warm. Settings available only in wifi mode. Not so intuitive.
Finally. They Fixed It… But…
As we all know, the Control and Stream apps, up until about four months ago, were utterly worthless. Those of us wanting to stream Tidal had no other option (of which I am aware) than to pay for Roon. Finally, they got around to fixing the connectivity issues. But… the highest Tidal quality available using the Stream app remains HiFi. We need a Tidal Master option!
Worst. App. Ever.
Title says it all, it’s literally the worst app I’ve ever used. I’m not even going to do a rundown of all the issue because obviously nobody from KEF cares, but the biggest issue is that 99% of the tracks on my phone are greyed out and cannot be played in the app. These are tracks physically stored on my device not in some cloud streaming service somewhere.
KEF are you going to do anything?
I am in the same camp as most here. Love the speakers, the software is outrageously bad. Even worse is KEF’s complete lack of interest in their product and customer satisfaction.
At AXPONA (before KEF had their temper tantrum) people were lined up outside the door for these with credit cards ready. Your just going to ignore these people?!
KEF are you going to do anything to make your product useable? This thing is awful!
