Kokoon FAQ
Is Kokoon free?
Yes, Kokoon is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Kokoon legit?
⚠️ The Kokoon app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
The Kickstarter for this product promised that you could activate a Power Nap to sleep just the right time before deep sleep to wake refreshed. But that doesn’t seem to be here anymore. And getting the “eeg” data off of the device? Still doesn’t seem possible - and it doesn’t share sleep data with Apple health. What is the point of this thing other than playing sound snippets ? I don’t need special headphones to do that.
Latest update broke the app
Don’t download the v3.5.03 update. None of the white noise sounds will play. The app is currently useless.
Impossible to register
You have to register- it will send you a verification link that will open the app and that’s it. No way to actually register. No code in email only link to open app, app needs update
Great hardware, horrificly bad software
I’ve had the night buds since 2022 and, sadly, they are so amazing that I can no longer sleep without them and I’m ruined for life! But the app…. Just wow. I’m in software and app development and so I get how it works to develop and app. This app hasn’t worked properly since the day it came out. I suspect when Time Mag named them as an Invention of the Year for 2022 that the business got so inundated with new users that it nearly killed them. They weren’t really ready for production, but they had to go full steam ahead anyway. Too much can be too much too soon in the app world. But I never would have guessed that, 2 years later, they app would still be so chock full of defects. Thankfully, for me, I have zero interest in tracking my sleep. I just want the app to phase out my Calm Sleep Story when it senses I’ve got to sleep. It does that. And then I want it to play brown noise all night long. It does that, too. But it’s horrendously glitchy, still filled with defects, and the tracking part is like a broken clock on that it gets it right every once in a blue moon.
App not working after recent update
After updating to the newest version, the app never opens and stays in a cycle of loading. Considering that you have to PAY to use this app, it further highlights how this company is horrible. Please fix your app or refund me the money I’m paying you.
App doesn’t work
I got my kokoon nite buds during the kickstarter. After the most recent update, the app doesn’t even load. Not that it ever worked well anyway. Skip the app and just listen to music on iTunes or Spotify. You won’t be missing much anyway as very little was available for audio tracks and the sleep data never worked. Also, no one responds to help requests. The earbuds themselves are fantastic and definitely help me sleep. The app is worthless.
Broken again
Got a message when I opened the app. "Update Required". So I updated. Now when I launch the app on my iPhone 15 it's just a blank green screen and never changes. I uninstalled and rebooted the phone and reinstalled - same thing. So the "update" doesn't work at all.
Once again, good hardware, horrible app and worse support. Submitted a ticket and last time it was about 5 weeks before I got a reply. Will see how long it takes this time.
Doesn’t Live Up To Expectations
I purchased the Kokoon nightbuds during the kickstarter campaign, and the first iterations of the app are much preferred over the recent versions.
For a long time, the app had trouble recognizing my nightbuds and therefore wouldn’t allow me to pair them with the app despite the earphones working as intended with every other app. Sleep tracking never worked correctly, and various settings in the app (such as automatic power off) never had any noticeable effect.
Now that I have purchased the newer Philips x Kokoon headphones, the app demands that I sign up for a new subscription and pay the annual fee despite having a subscription already. After trying to subscribe, I get stuck on the intro screen, and closing the app either tries to force me through a subscription purchase again or it hangs indefinitely. Support team hasn’t acknowledged my request in a week.
There’s not enough value to justify the annual subscription cost until the app is stable and they either add newer content or organize what they have better. I only want access to the sleep sounds/noise masking, and I can get similar elsewhere for free or for a one-time fee. Compare against Bose’s sleepbuds: same price for headphones, free app.
App doesn’t connect
Just got new Kokoon ear buds and after trying to connect to the app for an hour I know it’s not possible.
Does not pair with phone
I was able to pair my nightbuds with the phone but now I can’t pair with the app. Any suggestions?!
