Description

From the award winning creators of Studycat for Schools, comes Fun German! The #1 way for kids to learn Deutsch!
From preschool and beyond, Fun German inspires children's innate love of learning with interactive games and activities.
Our bite-sized lessons will keep your child motivated while they discover a new language and build bilingual skills for a lifetime!
WHY STUDYCAT?
• Learn German, in German. All our activities focus on language immersion, which means your child won't be hearing any English. This might be confusing at first, but trust us, it's the best way to learn.
• Everyday Language. Our lessons teach words and expressions that kids can apply in their everyday lives, so they can get a head start developing their bilingual abilities.
• Get Talking Fast. With our interactive speaking challenges, kids will be encouraged to produce and speak entire words and phrases on their own! The earlier kids start their language-learning journey, the more likely they are to reach proficiency quickly.
• Vocal Variety. Our characters' voices use different tones, expressions, and accents so that kids can pick up on the subtleties of pronunciation from different speakers.
• Designed by Experts. All our activities are designed by language and early-education experts. Thoughtfully developed lessons will build your child's confidence with every step.
• Safe for Kids & Ad-Free. Parents can rest easy knowing that there are no pesky ads to distract children from their learning. All content is appropriate for ages 3 and up.
• Offline Learning. On a plane, at a restaurant, or in a park? No problem! Fun German is available for both online and offline use.

Learn German Reviews

Our daughter loves it but…

Angry guy!!! on

I am German and we live abroad. So for my daughter to learn more German it’s amazing. The only issue is the female speaker. She does have a “Sprachfehler”, meaning she can’t say the ß and other a sounds properly. The male speaker is correct. But this is a total Desaster for an app which is supposed to teach kids German. Correct German. Example: “Weiß” ends up as “weich”

Great for kids

My 6 year old is learning German at school and she loves this app. It helps reinforce the words she is learning in German class in a fun and interactive way. There are several different games in each lesson. My favorite one is where they record your child saying the words and then use the recording to have the child find the words. Definitely recommend!

Not worth the money

Be aware that the $59.99 a year subscription gives you only 10 themed lessons. If your child has any German language knowledge than this is not the app for you. Topics are entry level such as colors, animals and rooms of the house which is nice and builds a child’s confidence with words they can quickly apply to everyday life. My son was able to complete the entire 10 lessons in about 3 months with doing only one lesson a day. You are better off using a free app or any web based free language workshop as this is the level you pay for with unlimited Studycat German. My child enjoyed it and thought it was fun, but his German was at the end roughly the same level as when he started. As a parent, however, I do not think it is worth $59.99 for what essentially is a language game.

Great Concept, Lacks Update

The concept for this program is a great one, but a one start on execution—after a number of exercises, you come to a point where the program glitches and you can’t go any further. I bypassed one exercise to only be stopped by another with a glitched exercise one unit up. I would rate this five stars without the glitchs. I’ve written the vendor with no response to my inquiries so far. I will update this review once the issues are addressed.
