How much does Light Meter Ultra cost?
Light Meter Ultra has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is £3.99.
Been using this app with my old SLR and it's been really good. Have an premium subscription but ran into issues last night when shooting in an underground venue where the signal was bad. I kept getting locked out of the premium features like the larger aperture options. Was really frustrating.
Con
“In-app purchases” - Cannot use the app without paying for a subscription. The entire app is a paid app masquerading as a free one with bonus paid features. The entire app is a bonus paid feature.
It’s an alright app but not the best.
The app works nicely but the aperture doesn’t go lower than f2.8 and any higher than f16 which has meant that I’ve had to guess on a lot of exposures when I have needed to go higher than f16. This isn’t help by the fact that it doesn’t go higher than 1/1000 of a second. The lowest iso is also a bit annoying as I often shoot 25iso film stocks but I cannot use this app to expose them properly.
No option to simply buy
There are plenty of free light meter apps that do exactly the same as this one. I would be happy to pay for a better user interface but I absolutely REFUSE to subscribe to simply use an app.
…Thanks dev for the response, but you know as well as I do there’s not monthly updates that give you amazing new features and improvements, that make it worth anyones subscription money. It literally just needs to calculate an exposure and that’s it…
Awesome little app
Could not be easier - perfect for shooting analogue fast obvious and intuitive- takes me back to always having a sekonic in my back pocket
Problem and advice
When I set the ASA TO 50 and the aperture to 16 the exposure flashes 1s is this because. In low light the settings for aperture and Asa are to low pleas advise before I review the app
Excellent
I take a lot of camera shots with my old QL17 and and find this app has really improved the quality of my photos.
Best light meter app by far
I’ve got a bunch of these light meter apps and while they all basically do the same thing, this one has the most sensible interface of the lot. One thing missing though that other apps have is the ability to snap a photo that I can cross-reference once I’ve developed the film, but hopefully that’s coming soon.
