LightTrac Reviews

Great App (one small bug)

hike not on

United Kingdom

This app is invaluable for finding perfect photography locations for sun and/or moon rises and sets. Also useful for figuring out angles of illumination or dark periods for star shots! Noticed one small problem today—27 Oct 2024 when clocks change back in the UK from daylight savings to normal time—that the predicted time of the sunrise is an hour earlier than it should be, and that the angle of the sunrise is based on that wrong time.

I had given this two stars because of an issue that appeared not to be being addressed. It’s fixed now so glad to say I’ve gone back to to 5. Delighted it’s fixed

Photography: know exactly where and when to shoot those perfect shots with the best lighting. Astrophotography: pick optimum conditions for the best shots of the Milky Way or a huge hunter’s moon. Get a good foreground in the shot. Romantic picnics: find that amazing sunset Sunbathing with a view House buying: see what the lighting will be like in the garden at all times of day. Thanks for creating such a great app.

Just paid for this but there are no instructions or help options to know how to use it or what any of it means?!

It’s part of my camera gear...

It used to be when you scouted a location you would have to go to the location. But these days you can use Google Earth, Maps, Street View, and combine them with the Light Trac app for full proof scouting... I can’t count the amount of time saved when I could find out where the light will be and at what time of day. The only way it could get any better would be having the ability to link to Google directly to save locations for a later date. 👍

A must when buying a house/flat

I originally bought this app as an aid to photography. However, it has proved far more valuable as an aid to establishing whether gardens will be in sun or shade when looking to move! Will it be a light or a dark house in winter, spring, summer... Here's your answer.
