I have been using this app for a few week now and overall I am happy with the experience. I wanted an app to help support my Italian CEFR course I am attending (Common European framework of reference for languages.) So far the apps mirrors the A1 grammar and vocabulary of the course, although I am not sure if this is by accident or design and if the app is actually CEFR approved. What I like about the app is it’s focus on grammar. From my previous experience with language apps, just learning a lot of vocabulary without the grammar to help you structure sentences is pointless. The app helps you practice the grammar rules on small sentences and gives detailed explanations of grammar with each section. The interface is attractive and the activities are engaging and varied enough to keep you interested. Hopefully this is the case as I progress through the levels. The Italian voice used is very good in my opinion, clear native accent and slow paced. On the downside the dialogue sections of the app which they call story telling is random, not realistic or well thought out. I often skip the section as it is of little value. Perhaps with other languages like Spanish or French it is better but for Italian it is not adequate yet. If I was asked what the additional features the app could have, I would say an audio drill of improved dialogues or vocabulary which could be loop played while driving.
The app logs me out almost every day, but when I try to log back in, the spiral keeps rotating and the app hangs there.
Currently, the application only supports Tradition Chinese for learning other languages. I hope Simplified Chinese can be put on as well. Thank you.
