Lost Chronicles (F2P) Reviews
Love this dev but not so much this game
I look for any game put out by this developer and have enjoyed each one as original and challenging, so when I saw this one I was excited. Firstly, it doesn’t have the same game play as earlier games by this dev, it feels more like a muddle of other games I’ve played which I have ended up deleting. This game doesn’t give you everything you need to progress through the normal story line but requires you to ‘earn’ some of the equipment needed through repeatable puzzle areas, some free, some you need to earn something to open the puzzle area. These puzzle areas are time sensitive, the faster you complete them the more rewards you earn. At first this was fine but as you progress and need more equipment it can become very repetitive, having to play the puzzle areas many times to earn what you need. I haven’t been able to progress for days because of not earning what I need from the puzzles. That’s frustrating. I really like that this game can be played without spending a cent although progress might be faster if you did. Overall I think its a good game but definitely not my favourite from this dev.
Eh not as good as your other games
I’ve only recently discovered you guys and your games. Loved the lost lands and other stories.
By far my favourite games to play in the last few months.
This one feels different and going back to the same search area over and over is a quite frustrating.
Please make more of the other types.
Thank you for being such great game creators.
Excellent and challenging
I rairly write reviews, this games has 10x more depth and immersion than other Hop games.
Big thumbs up…
Not as good as usual but still enjoyable
I enjoyed the start of this game, I don’t even really mind the repetition of the same puzzles. The gameplay is a different to all of Five BN’s other fantastic games and I have to admit it’s not as good as you get into it. It’s kinda tricky to figure out having to collect different things to advance although the hint system is good to let you know what to do next if you get stuck. But now part of my game isn’t working so I can’t complete it. I hope the next release goes back to the old formula. Still, not a bad game and I do like the keeper puzzles (not as much as the search and find ones). They’re a bit boring and some of them are really hard.
Engaging story, excellent graphics and gameplay
This is the first review I’ve ever left on an app, but I’m absolutely in awe of this game! I’ve played most other games by this developer and have enjoyed them all, but I think this one is my favourite after completing the main story. The plot is incredibly engaging and so are the characters, they kept me invested through the more repetitive parts of the gameplay, such as the hidden object searches in the pantry/bakery/etc. I’ve seen a few people comment negatively on the repetitiveness and, while I understand, I personally thought it made the game’s world more immersive and quite enjoyed it!
The variety of puzzles and how everything was woven into the storyline was impeccable, though that’s not surprising from Five-BN Games. I’m always impressed with the range of puzzles every time I play one of their games. Avoiding spoilers, I love that the story was left open-ended and am eagerly awaiting a sequel to see what unfolds! An absolute 10/10 game, couldn’t recommend it more :)
Frustrating
I usually love these games however this one was particularly frustrating and repetitive. Revisiting the same places again and again to spot objects was not as fun as their other fabulous games.
A bit repetitive but good all the same
Loved it but found it a bit frustrating with the multiple trips to the same areas to play the same mini games over and over again otherwise you couldn’t continue.
Not my favourite
I love five BN games but I’m finding this one frustrating. Maybe I should have had the tutorial but I always skip since I know your games so well. The format of this one is different and to honest I’m finding the endless trips to the pantry or basement to find hidden objects repetitive and tedious. Don’t think I’ll bother finishing the game. Shame because the graphics are good but progress into different areas is too slow.
I love your games
I’ve played them all and hope you come out with more soon!
Great! But prefer the old style.
I don’t mind change and games evolving as the developers grow. But this game gets a little bit confusing on the steps you need to take to find items needed to progress in the game. All of the games by this developer are wonderful and I LOVE all they do. So I was hesitant to give 4 stars instead of 5, but if I’m being honest it’s just a little confusing with the different elements to the game that have been added. As always though, I love and appreciate their games.
