I don’t mind change and games evolving as the developers grow. But this game gets a little bit confusing on the steps you need to take to find items needed to progress in the game. All of the games by this developer are wonderful and I LOVE all they do. So I was hesitant to give 4 stars instead of 5, but if I’m being honest it’s just a little confusing with the different elements to the game that have been added. As always though, I love and appreciate their games.
I found this to be even more enjoyable than the other games by this developer, and i have played through them all. Yes, this one is different in its format from the other games, and it may take a moment to get the hang of it, but it delivers in everything i enjoy about HOP games. There are plenty of HOS, puzzles, and CHOiCE in how to obtain many of the objects, which made it that much more enjoyable IMHO. Being bake to choose which puzzle or HOS to do in order to complete the task was delightful. I hope they release another in the same format.
I really enjoyed playing this game. It was very innovative and fun. It took me a few days to finish it, (usually it takes me 1 or 2 days to finish a game like this). The story was interesting, gameplay even more. The only reason for the 4 stars is crafting certain items. Having to play same puzzles/hos few times in a row makes it bit dull. Overall I'm really satisfied and looking forward to seeing more games like this.
(REVISED OCT 8) I gave this game a second chance. I’ve revised my rating to 4 stars. Here are my views. Like their other games, once this game gets going the story is okay and logical. There is a nice variety of HOS (Hidden object scenes) and games. Also, the developers are EXTREMELY generous with hints, skips, and even diamonds which you can win by playing the game. This is truly free to play. The main differences between this and their other games are as follows: — Instead of finding morphing objects or collectables to unlock HOS or games in the “EXTRAS” menu, now these HOS/games are incorporated into the main game. You play them to collect items to craft elements. — The crafted elements help advance the story, and also reward you with hints, skips, and diamonds. — Although these HOS and games are timed, the clock is tied to bonus prizes and do not impact the progress of the game. — The game progress is rigidly linear, you will not be able to interact with everything in a scene. Things don’t unlock until the story calls for it, so you’ll visit most locations a number of times. — once the game is finished, instead of a bonus chapter you can continue playing (haven’t tried this very long, but your character stays in the village and completes tasks to build a home) I mostly liked the game. I would have given it five stars except for two issues: First, the timed HOS and games. It is stressful, and despite my liking most of the “cache” games I did not enjoy playing them. Like I said, having the clock run out doesn’t prevent you from solving the puzzle and winning what you need to progress, but it makes it stressful and takes a great deal of the satisfaction away. (I felt like a dummy every time the clock ran out). Second, as the story progresses you are required to win more items per crafted element. Eventually that’s the only option left to progress so you end up completing the same HOS or puzzle several times in a row, making it a bit of a slog. (ORIGINAL) This developer has some of the best adventure games with a nice mix of HOS, interactive HOS, and games woven through clever story lines. Unfortunately this game is not like previous games. I didn’t play very long. From what I gather, the point of the game is to collect and craft items by exploring and completing timed hidden object scenes. You have to keep playing them until you find or win what you need to move on to the next task. You can also buy the collectibles, or hints/help, with diamonds
Not like their other games so it is confusing at first. Basically you have to do the same Hidden Object scenes multiple times. Which sounds boring but it is kinda fun cause you have to remember where things are. And it’s timed which some may not appreciate. I respect the variety but I do think the original format of these games is better. You guys were already doing it differently than many other game devs. No need to gild the lily
I’ve really been enjoying this game but there’s a glitch in the trailer game to get the coins. Even though the cabinet doors are unlocked it keeps saying they need to be unlocked. Also that’s it’s dark and to move the lantern, but it won’t move.
