Lucid Hearing Reviews

Hearing aid OK enough, POOR software.

Eclectic music loving old guy on

United States

The hearing aid are OK enough. Over the counter hearing aids. The app is really poor though. Things I don’t like: No way to turn off notifications and they are repetitive and after having to see them for the last 1.5 years, they are redundant messages-just the same thing over and over… Can’t adjust the hearing aid volume with the phone volume buttons, and you can’t use the app to adjust the volume without covering up the volume number with your finger-so when you move the volume slider you can’t see what number the volume is set at. So you move your finger off and if it isn’t correct you have to try again and guess how much to try to move the slider to get to your desired volume. The Lucid Shape allows you to adjust frequencies for better hearing, but you can only make the adjustment or revert to the original-you can’t save settings for certain venues like a noisy restaurant vs. a lecture hall vs. a quiet venue. It would be very useful to not have to readjust every time you go out for dinner. After using the Lucid hearing aids for 1.5 years I am convinced of hearing aid usefulness, but will be looking for another brand that offers improved software and an updated product.

Multidirectional?

-Vickster- on

United States

Advertising says these are multidirectional and yes, there are 2 microphones on each hearing aid. However there’s no way to control the 2 mics’ volume individually. Would be nice in a restaurant if I could turn up the volume on the microphones that are right behind the tubing at the top, the ones I would call the front mics. It’s possible that I could at least direct some of the conversation sound to the microphones that aren’t blocked by the widest part of my ears. But nope. Not possible to turn the front & back microphones up and down individually. I know it’s possible because I tested a pair of really expensive ones. Maybe in a few years that “luxury” feature will trickle down to the OTC hearing aids. :)

You’re committed, it’s the only app.

It seems that it crashes quite a bit and the chat support at Lucid doesn’t work support for the the app, you need to find help from another department.

Zero Customer Service

Constant problems with pairing. No one staffing at Sam’s in Savannah. Area manager for lucid will not respond to email or phone. Zero customer service. Do not buy this product you will be wasting your money

Hearing aids won’t pair up with this APP

MicMinBell on

United States

It says to shut every thing down when the hearing aids won’t connect. The APP did work except only one paired hearing aid will show up. Only one time did both hearing aids show up to pair. But, the problem is if they are paired and you get out of the APP and try to go back in you have to redo the whole process over again and sometimes nothing comes up to pair them. Very frustrating that you can’t pair them or even adjust the hearing aids for different surrounding sounds using the APP.

Unreliable

SAHayesDavey on

United States

I had to get my hearing aids recalibrated, and an update to my phone control. Now I have to choose which ear to take calls and listen to music from my phone. I can no longer adjust volume for both ears through the phone. We’ve tried everything, and the app refuses to connect with both hearing aids.

Great at disconnecting

JohnOrg on

United States

I do NOT recommend Lucid hearing aids because of the app. This app does not deserve even 1 star, unless someone one enjoys the app disconnecting from the hearing aids 10+ times a day. Then most of the time you will need to remove the 1 dropped or both from ears, open & close the battery to reconnect. If you go into a different room in the house from where phone is located or even if phone is with you but walk into I different bldg be prepared to repeat the process. This is a very expensive piece of junk!

Bluetooth is terrible

richdembowski on

Randomly disconnects requiring me to reboot each aid. Cuts out during phone calls and while talking to someone. I expect more from Lucid and Sams.

Was good, after update, very unreliable BT

Rsakabu on

United States

Was very good but after the Lucid128’s were updated at Sam’s Club and the new software App updated, the Bluetooth connectivity is awful. I wanted to use the Lucid shape feature so I was required to get the HA’s updated at Sams. The hearing aids now disconnect about 3 feet from the phone and disconnect every time I go to the phone>settings or any other app that outputs a sound. Might as well spend $1k less for hearing aids that don’t have Bluetooth streaming.

Unreliable App

Ben Meyer Acoustic on

United States

The app barely works. I have trouble keeping both of my hearing aids connected. I restart the app and sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn’t. When the app decides to work it can work pretty good but most the the time that’s not the case. The app needs to improve. Disappointed
