this app is clearly made by a sailor who knows what it's all about. in my eyes it's the "go to app" when you plan on sailing in areas outside of cellphone data coverage where windy & co say "good-bye". this app not only offers a wide range of grib models right in your hands (in my case a old 2018 ipad that works like a charm with this app and an iphone on the helm), but it even takes it a step further by filtering the useful gribs for the area you're currently planning to sail. no scrolling through a list of gribs from the other side of the world. priceless when sailing in moving seas with a small crew of just 2 where overall efficiency is the key to happy sailing. with all the additional great features (for example distance with calculated apperant wind regarding to a preset boatspeed) it is absolutely worth every dollar (or in my case euro). and it's a one-time affordable buy, not a subscription that quietly sums up in the background over the years. i'm more than happy that i've run across this app, it will play an essential part in our future sailing! thanks & kudos to the developer

Great app with a ton of features, clearly developed by a seasoned sailor. Routing works great, it’s fast and has tons of options. Many weather models included, if you need something else, load the GRIB file. Gone are the days of overpriced routing software packages on clumsy tough books. LuckGrib made the iPad my first choice for racing and cruising. Craig is a friendly, active developer, who keeps LuckGrib up to date. Highly recommendable, worth the money!

Works seamlessly on my iPad. I like the option to show weather along a route as one sails along. Plus you can store different model vintages and compare them.

Nicht nur super Wettervorhersage. Auch der Kauf der Routing Funktion hat sich gelohnt! Genau das, was ich wollte. Einfache Festlegung von Wegepunkten (Beispiel: für Rund Bornholm ist nur ein Punkt auf der Insel festzulegen, ansonsten nur Start und Ziel). Auch Ausschlusszonen (Sperrgebiete u.ä.) lassen sich einfach definieren. Praktisch auch, dass ich jederzeit, auch offline, von der aktuellen Position aus die Route aktualisieren kann. Außerdem lässt sich die Route exportieren und in eine Navigations-App wie isailor einfügen. Die Bedienung war für mich etwas gewöhnungbedürftig. Es gibt aber sehr gute Tutorials. Die App arbeitet sehr schnell. Es ist nur eine einfache Landkarte hinterlegt. Da wäre für das Routing eine Karte wie Open Seamap (oder gekaufte?) wünschenswert.

Great app, the best I've seen so far. The routing (in app purchase) works really great. Once you have the polar coordinates of the ship correctly entered and your own performance of boat and crew correctly estimated, it's a great thing! I sail - almost - exactly the routes that were calculated before. Craig answers questions immediately, if he is not sailing himself ;-) You can see that an experienced sailor has programmed something really good. I can highly recommend the app. In addition, there is the offshore function as an in app purchase. This works smoothly with Iridium go, without the prior knowledge is required. OK, You have to wait for the data, but that is due to the transfer rate of Iridium! I use the app and all two in app purchases (Offshore, Routing). Rarely get so much performance for money! Zigy. Wenn man erstmal die Polarkoordinaten vom Schiff richtig eingegeben hat und die eigene Performance von Boot und Crew richtig einschätzt, ist das eine super Sache! Ich fahre - fast - exakt die Routen ab, die vorher berechnet wurden. Craig antwortet auf Fragen sofort, wenn er nicht grade selber segelt! ;-) Man merkt, dass hier ein erfahrener Segler was richtig gutes programmiert hat. Ich kann die App sehr empfehlen. Darüber hinaus gibt es die Offshore Funktion als In App Kauf. Das funktioniert reibungsfrei mit Iridium go, ohne das Vorkenntnisse erforderlich sind. OK, Auf die Daten muss man dann warten, ab das liegt an der Übertragungsrate von Iridium! Ich benutze die App und alle beiden In App Käufe (Offshore, Routing). Selten für Geld soviel Leistung bekommen! Zigy.
