Is Matterport free?
Yes, Matterport is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Matterport legit?
⚠️ The Matterport app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
After the latest patch 4.5 capture can’t align photos properly or it is so slow. After a reboot of the software it works fine for a moment just to get stuck again. So unprofessional and makes me look bad for my clients as well.

We still need new, modern camera gear ASAP which Pro2 obviously is’t. Give us Pro3 with better iq and higher resolution and here’s a one happy camper with five stars.
No free mode
So there is no free mode on this app!
I can’t take even one 3D scan for free. To get the camera working I need to buy the upgraded version. Suck it!
Be aware of scammy pricing
They are using every dark pattern to trick customers to get the "professional subscription" which is 50€/mon and then they make the unsubscribing near impossible. You can't delete your credit card info from the system either. They demand you to send a "request" via email if you don't want the subsciption and yet they haven't responded after days of contacting.
Feeling really scammed here.
Great App. But…..
This is a great app. But why can’t you add a feature, where you can download other tours that are not your own? Since the MATTERPORT 3D SHOWCASE APP hasn’t been working in almost a week and has not been updated in 4 years, this would be a great feature to add. It would make a lot of users and clients happy.
Bugs… can’t even sign in
The app won’t even let me login so I can’t upload my scans. It’s not a password error or anything like that, you enter your info, hit sign in, and it just takes you right back to the sign in screen.
Limits you to low resolution scans if you don’t buy a Matterport camera
The claim that they are compatible with other 360 cameras is misleading because it limits you to low resolution scans. It disables the higher quality scans in your camera. They do this to make it look like their cameras are noticeably better, but the actual observable difference is likely negligible. I did not know they intentionally degraded the quality of scans before I subscribed. Needless to say, I canceled my subscription immediately.

I can’t use it
OK, I started out, criticizing matterport for iOS, because I could not sign in with Apple sign in or Google but, when I came back to it, I was inside the app. Since I had ungenerously left only one star, I had to come back to change that. Unfortunately, I can’t erase the review so in all honesty, I have not yet tried it. that said, I’m just going to leave a five star review. When I have tried it out, I’ll come back to this review and update it. Thank you.

Why can’t we use a affordable 360 camera instead of using a 5 thousand dollar camera they try to sell you. Also you can’t use your computer, everything is done through this lazy app
