Description

MealPlan is an easy, efficient way to plan meals and groceries.

"I am thoroughly enjoying your MealPlan app!" "Super app!" "Finally - a simple, easy-to-use menu planning app that looks good as well."

Now with Apple Watch (watchOS 4) support!

MealPlan is a weekly meal and grocery planning app that's focused on getting the job done efficiently. You use a simple interface to plan out meals like “Hamburgers on Thursday, Fish and Rice on Friday”. Recent meals are easily available or you can type in new items the first time you use them.

MealPlan is a universal app, and will sync between your iPhone and iPad using either iCloud or Dropbox. Plan your meals on the iPad's big screen, and automatically have your grocery list with you on your phone. And access your grocery list from your Apple Watch.

MealPlan creates your grocery list as you're planning meals. When you're done, tap the Grocery Basket to see the list, add new items, mark off items you already have, and then print it, email it, or sync it with your iPhone. This is a huge time saver!

And, on the iPad, once you’ve used the app for a few weeks, the Magic Wand will help you quickly fill out subsequent weeks, with a quick suggestions interface.

Features include:
- Simple interface to plan out meals.
- Keep track of recipes and the groceries they use.
- Automatically generated grocery list based on your meal plan.
- Save grocery lists for later use (think "Party" or "Camping").
- Save a week's planned meals as a template to reuse.
- Combined search/add box makes it easy to add new items.
- Print out a week's plan to any AirPrint printer.
- Configure your own meals: Add snacks, or remove breakfast if you don't want to plan it.
- Email a plain text summary of the week's plan.
- Add a note to any meal item, including clickable links.
- Dropbox sync for families with multiple devices and accounts.
- Use Siri for groceries: "Add Milk to my Grocery List".

"Before MealPlan, I’d buy food at the grocery store and then forget I had it .. a few days later it would go to waste. A few minutes every week standing in front of the fridge with MealPlan in hand will help you get the most out of what you have on hand. Plan it, print it out and stick it to your fridge!"

My most used app

Tatertots12121212 on

My children all have different food allergies and this is the only way I can track each meal, manage the ingredients, and ensure everyone is meeting their nutritional needs. I’ve been meal planning with this for over seven years!

Simple and smooth

Just the way I like it.

Best digital meal planner

This app has all the functionality I have been looking for: 1. Easy to use 2. Ability to add my own meal names 3. Ability to develop my own meal plan and not be stuck with preplanned plans. Today I planned for a month very quickly. I don’t need grocery list as I use Alexa and verbally add items to my list as I meal plan. I only plan for dinner and have deleted breakfast and lunch. I would really like to be able to have a month on a single page rather than a week. I know I can easily swipe to the next week but as I am planning leftover days and repurposed leftovers it is nice to visually see the entire month on one page.

Thank you!

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for!! It works great, no crashing and I can change my mind as many things as I want! I can make my own recipes. I can make my own categories. I can move menus around. It’s amazing!!

New issue

I loved this app until this week. I relied on it to make and print my shopping list. It makes it, but when I hit the send to printer or email icon it shuts down my grocery list. Unable now to use the list. Big disappointment.

I rely on it. Minor issue still

Incredible response from the developer that did a good job of addressing the issues. Most are fixed and I can use the app as I did before. One hanging issue left: I still can’t click on a link that’s in the notes; instead I have to tap and hold, select it, copy and paste it into a webpage, even though the text looks like a hyperlink. Original review: The app has been crashing on me every time I open it. It seems to be related to having web links in the notes. Before the last recipe I added, I was relying on it heavily. It was easy to get groceries for any number of days, and I really loved having a grocery list and recipe keeper combined. Glitches I’ve noticed: As stated, links in the notes are troublesome. Sometimes, meat from recipes don’t appear on the grocery list. Recipe suggestions only work if you populate every meal every day for a certain number of days. Not a glitch, but measurements only allow decimals, so I can’t tap “1/3 cup” but have to use 0.33 instead. Things I love: I can sync between my phone and my husband’s, so we both know what groceries to get or what the meal is without having to ask each other lots of questions. I like how easy it is to search through recipes, and how easy it is to categorize. I like that I can add photos, too.

Don’t waste your money

When I saw people say it was difficult to use next to other reviewers that loved the app, I figured perseverance and tech experience was enough. It’s not. At some points, the entry field for grocery lists is cut off of my screen so I can’t edit it. You type in a meal and it looks like they have it in the database. You click the predicted food and nothing happens. This is not easy. At some points it’s literally impossible. There is no phone number just an email and FAQ. I wish I could get my money back. It’s $4 dollars, but four bucks for junk is a racket.

Doesn't work

Utreviewer8 on

Don't buy. Can't edit categories. It won't open when you try to select various things like ingredients, categories, etc. to actually be able to make this functional. And given they charge for a non functioning app, that's a joke. I hoped the newer positive reviews meant this was ok, but sadly it doesn't work. Working on somehow getting a refund as this is horrible.

No updates for almost two years!

It appears the developer has abandoned future development/bug fixes/enhancements on this app.

This is by far my favorite meal planner

Derrick101 on

Out of all the meal planner apps this is the only one that lets you use your own recipes in addition to planning in such an organized way! I wish there was 1.) dark mode 2.) updates UI but the meat is there! I highly recommend this one!
