Memory Reviews

Fantastic mapping software!

JB & Shelly on

Australia

First started using Memory Maps in June 2011, and it’s proven itself over the past 14 years. This is the best software and mapping for anything from touring to outback remote travel. Very accurate and easy to use with a variety of maps including HEMA 4WD Maps. Memory Maps saved me when I was lost in the middle of the Simpson Desert, when satellite network was down. Keep up the great work Memory Maps Team!

Reliable but not always update

I am a great fan of offline mapping apps and so far the 2 best ones are Memory Map and ExploreOz. What makes Memory Map a great navigating software is the various layers, the track recording option, and the one time purchase. I like to own what I pay for. Memory Map is a great tool. It’s not most user-friendly but it’s solid, robust and reliable. I have only 2 things to mention where improvments would be wlecome: 1.Apple Carplay compatiblility. This would be a great addition to see it on the big car interface. 2.The second one is the availability of more recent maps especially in certain regions such as the Victorian High Country with recent updates on camps and routes, tracks that do not always show on the maps available for Memory Map. Apart from these I am happy with my 2022 4wd maps.

Apple Play missing.

Why no apple play option? It makes more sense to use this app on vehicle screen than a phone. Since no mapping app has ever made an attempt to offer Apple play does that mean it is not possible? Also, having to create an account to download and pay for other maps is archaic and cumbersome.

Excellent

Run mem maps for years. Updated for mem map 4 all and they have done a great job. This is by far the best road tracking, mapping, off road driving interface bar none.

Excellent product

Been looking at various mapping apps, and this is by far the best.

Pretty good overall package

I bought the Hema app many, many years ago when it was $150 and when its size of 2GB (I think) was a big consideration. And I used it a lot, to do SA tracks including a trip to the Simpson. I was never really happy with the UI and it never really got any better, but it worked. Then I saw a video for this app in YouTube (All 4x4 - Stephan Fisher) and was intrigued. I downloaded the app in my iOS devices and bought the Hema maps (again) for Maps-4-All and started to play. I was just what the Hema maps needed!! I have just gotten back from 3 weeks in The Cape and used Maps-4-All as my primary mapping solution and it works perfectly. I am busy planning a Tassie trip on in now. HIGHLY recommend, with the Hema maps!!

Disappointing

A horrible piece of software from the 90s it seems.

Tested most GPS navigation app

I rely solely on digital navigation for the past 10 years and have tested most applications available in Australia. Memory maps fall is still the best and most reliable out there. Not subscription, based and together with the Hema map pack, it is very fairly priced.

Good, solid app

The app is working well and meeting all my expectations

First use planning a trip

Fortuner Driver on

Australia

Best ever user experience and cross-device updating of tracks and POIs is excellent and easy. Good so far and paid for Hema Australia maps and Hema VHC maps. Not the cheapest way to add maps but great trip planner. Still I also rate Avenza maps and the free NSW maps with great detail and even met NSW Park Rangers that use Avenza maps day to day…. MMfa is easier for trip planning though.
