Followed an off road track today, backcountry, NZ South Island, Used this app for the first time. Saved me after 500 meters after taking a wrong turn heading down a 10km dead end track. Able to correct my mistake and head back to the right track. App has LOTS of detail, works offline and it is easy to use. Highly recommended.
This is a really useful app whether tramping, fishing or hunting in NZ. The topo hunt maps give clear boundaries for public and private land. Map use is intuitive and better than any handheld GPS on a large screen iPhone. Setting routes and marks is easy and can be viewed in 3D on the PC. To improve: map download speed to IOS via WiFi. Also syncing routes, tracks and marks with PC needs to be simpler.
Great app that works when offline and no reception which is most places in NZ that are worth going to. Negative reviews obviously never ventured further than 2 km out of a city or offshore.
Fantastic app. Have been using for years to plan and record 4wd trips & tracks.

I really enjoy this app. But have had to pay for the maps a few times as it gets confusing with new devices.
This is a well used app, but admittedly with the marine charts add ons. A few slight bugs, and there could be improvements with things (such as showing the live Lat. and Long. when dragging marks). Generally does what it claim.
Dont download mates, useless app Need data use map toaster or nz topo , $ 46 bucks for this delayed and lagging page is fkd
Works well, some good free maps maps available for NZ and AUssie along with pay for more detailed maps. Facility for waypoints, routes, and basic navigation tools. Same interface as Hema apps
Still the best offline gps app out there. New nz topo maps are great too.
