Meridian 157: Prologue is a point and click puzzle game focused on engaging puzzles, immersive visuals and an exciting storyline. It is the first part of the Meridian 157 series, where you play as detective David Zander investigating a mysterious weather anomaly in the northern Pacific Ocean. Use your wits to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles to find a way deeper into the island in order to uncover the mystery behind the 157th meridian!

As a Myst-like, this is very, very good.  Unfortunately, there are a couple of times you’ll encounter standardized spatial logic puzzles that are divorced from any greater context, with no clues to help you, and if you aren’t great at those, you’re going to get a bit frustrated.  I’m more of an environmental puzzle person, myself, and, while I managed to muddle through the first one, the second one, very late in the game, stonewalled me for about thirty minutes.  In a game like the Witness, these kinds of puzzles are the norm, and the game slowly ramps you up to the harder ones, giving you time to get better at them.  To have them appear out of nowhere in a Myst-like feels jarring.  I don’t think I’ll be playing the other chapters, since I’m guessing I can expect more of them, but the game is otherwise engaging and atmospheric, so four stars.

This game fails to be as good as a the DaVinci House or the Room series. Very rudimentary in its game play as you can’t really ex0lore an environment and can just tap around and the normal mode where you are supposed to get hints is bad. Hints offer nothing. Stuck with no way to move forward. Invest in another game.

Took me a while to get used to the game as it is a bit different than others I have played. It was challenging and sometimes difficult to see items. The clues were sometimes helpful, sometimes not. Great that I could find the answers on YouTube ecause I got really stuck a couple of times.
