Metro: World and UK news app

I like Metro but consider the quality of News is spoiled by emphasis on the more attention grabbing ,human interest stories rather than solid U.K. and World News. Puzzle Section is first rate and a source of great enjoyment.Thank you. Liz.

The content and appearance of the app is great, but it is often very slow to respond, particularly when downloading an edition or opening a previously downloaded edition. Also, I’ve just been prompted to either give the app 5 stars or click on ‘no thanks’ - bit naughty. By all means ask for a review, but not in such a blatant way as to skew genuine reviews.

Constantly crashes. Inconsistent content. Some days you get the letters page some days not. Takes forever to move between live, editions and download. If I use the context menu to change screen brightness it crashes app and defaults to live news. Switching between apps does sameSo start again to try and read downloaded copy. Takes forever because I think it’s trying to connect to live content. No use if you’re on the tube. Never deletes old copies. Old version was so much better. Downloaded the whole edition exactly the same as printed version. Never crashed. Downloads automatically cleared after 7 days. Would give this zero stars if I could. Every upgrade makes the app worse not better. Awful ☹️

I love the Metro printed edition but the app is a test for the patience. If you read the digital edition, you can’t leave the app or even lock your phone without it kicking you back to the Home Screen. The weekend puzzles section is buggy too - the competition crossword always things your phone is rotated when you’re trying to submit your deets. I’d also question some of the content on the digital edition - it’s often different from the print edition and feels like it’s been scraped off social media in a hurry.

I wish you’d could keep old papers instead of just being deleted automatically

For a while now, this the Daily Edition in this App is difficult to open (have to keep finger pressed on button for ages)! It also keeps freezing up. Sort it out!!

No longer includes Hangman or Splitwords. Why cut these out instead of reducing a Sudoku puzzle? Also liked reading the Talk section which seems to have disappeared. Rubbish imo.

The daily puzzles now missing hangman & splitwords. Saturday edition (paid for) no longer includes crosswords. Not everyone like sudoku
