Metro: World and UK news app

Puzzles over the Christmas period absolutely pathetic. Today, two really “challenging” jigsaws. Never known it this bad in previous years. Other than that, it’s an ok app.

Articles seem to have many grammatical errors and are written in an amateur style. I read a few that were touching on subjects that I am knowledgeable in and noticed some inaccurate “facts” I just have it for some of the puzzles.

Would have been five stars if it wasn’t for the paltry effort of puzzles made over the Christmas period. Otherwise great app.

Puzzles+. Opened it and only 4 puzzles. Less than the normal weekday amount. Waste of time

Able to download so you can read when there is no service/intermet. Often has articles you will not find on mainstream news. Great puzzles

Good variety of news items, regular updates and the ability to read without requests for funds to allow you to see more than a taster of the item reported on.

As the title suggests METRO is essential for up to date news on a morning and evening daily basis. Short but informative each 'news cast' is topical and easy to read. Particularly like latest news and puzzles. Essential start to the day. Once coffee made and back in bed MERTRO is studied until all the puzzles are complete. Later when todays edition comes out we refresh with the latest news. Keep it up xx

Constantly crashes. Inconsistent content. Some days you get the letters page some days not. Takes forever to move between live, editions and download. If I use the context menu to change screen brightness it crashes app and defaults to live news. Switching between apps does sameSo start again to try and read downloaded copy. Takes forever because I think it’s trying to connect to live content. No use if you’re on the tube. Never deletes old copies. Old version was so much better. Downloaded the whole edition exactly the same as printed version. Never crashed. Downloads automatically cleared after 7 days. Would give this zero stars if I could. Every upgrade makes the app worse not better. Awful ☹️

For a free news app it has always been a great paper. I remember before the world of smart phones the paper always being on the busses. Now I have it in my hands at my own convenience. Thank you Metro

Spelling mistakes and grammatical errors are absolutely everywhere here which is really bad for an outlet that needs their output to be high quality. A simple proof read would fix this and changing your spell checkers away from American English as well as understanding the use of apostrophes, pluralisation and basic primary school level English would give serious credibility and weight to your articles. Also even if something has been well covered, it is lazy to assume a reader knows what you’re writing about without covering base facts, leaves room for confusion and misinformation to grow and spread, unless of course that is the vibe you’re going for these days
