Metronaut Sheet Music Reviews
Great just one
I honestly love what you can do with this app, and it helps me a lot. I just wish that when it played the music, it played it as the instrument that I play. I play French horn and I think it would be easier for me if it was played like that instead of just on piano. Other than that I love this app.
Pretty good
I'm gonna admit, this app is pretty good, but omg!! I don't have enough money and they'll only give you a few lines to play for free. I really want to use the whole app for days, but I'm not able to because the free trial is only 7 days. I would really like if the sheet music is free, but you keep other features locked behind a paywall because the company has to earn money still, lol like the lessons on there.
!
the app has you choose ur instrument then brings you their subscription and you cannot continue without having to get the free trial and cancel afterwards. that should never be the case and this app really disappointed me.

Where is the drum?
I won’t pay to play!

So I downloaded Metronaut for learning purposes. I take private lessons for the flute, and wanted to up my game for exams. I hopped into the app and tapped on one of the community posts. I listened to Ave Maria for a bit, and thought that it was really cool that you could share your learning on here! And then I clicked out of it and it kicked me out of the app, which was super annoying, and then I thought, let’s do some practicing! So I tapped on Japanese flute method lesson 1, and it loaded some pieces for me to play. I chose the first one, Lightly Row, and then noticed that I couldn’t play the full song without paying for the premium. I thought, whatever, it’s probably just for this one song. But no. You have to pay for premium to play the full version for EVERY SONG. YOU GET 2 BARS OF MUSIC, AND ONE THAT’S HALF FADED! I’M VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Please fix this. I also play piano, so I find it annoying that I cannot select 2 instruments. Please make it only premium for select songs, like very popular pop or rock songs, not ALL OF THEM! What if there’s a 3 year old violinist who wants to play full songs? This is truly unacceptable. Please fix all of this!
Want to give a five but can't for this one reason.
Thanks for any of the developers reading this. The only reason I cannot leave a f-star review is moslty that everything on the screen mostly for the Mac version is too small for me to read. My question is when is there going to be more display options to customize how the display screen relistate looks on the app. Ovearll, the app in my opinion has massively helped my trombone playing a lot mostly in the classical studies for modern pop and hard rock I would go on tomplay or improvise by ear. Ovearll, thanks for making a fantastic app for musicians.
There was no way to cancel during 7 day free trial period.
This subscription has never shown up under my subscriptions. I tried to cancel in the app many times - it said if it did not appear on your subscription list, it has already been cancelled. Then today I get charged the annual fee. When I go to cancel now, it’s a year before I can cancel. They just took my money and now I have to waste time getting my money back. It also said you would be notified ahead before being charged. That did not happen. Utter fraud.
Looks free, but you gotta pay to use it
I would love to go beyond the payroll to use this app, but there doesn’t appear to be a way to get around it. It’s a shame. This looks like it could have great potential, but greed makes it challenging to decide whether or not to pay for the app. Let users use the app for free, no strings attached, and then you will have more success. Otherwise, this appears to be an upfront cash grab…
A true joy!
Metronaut has brought great joy to my life by allowing me to play with all sorts of accompaniment, from duets to full orchestras. The developers are incredibly responsive and very open to new ideas and change requests. The app is great for all levels!
Amazingly responsive development team!!
Update 2/8/2024: The developers are amazingly responsive and continue to update this app promptly based on user feedback. Nothing is as much fun as playing with accompaniment in this app. It brings great joy daily! Update 8/20/22: Nice to see continued quality updates from the dev team. Last year I participated in their beta program and many of the bugs I found and features I wanted have been addressed! The latest fantastic update is the addition of Playlists! There were so many pieces I added to my favorites, that the single favorites list became untenable. Now I can organize the pieces on my own terms and I’m so, so happy :-). Now, please, focus on licensing and adding new content; particularly romantic-era piano concertos! Thanks and keep up the great work! Update 8/13/21: It's so great when the product manager and developers are responsive! Finally, they have added Airplay 2 support in this latest version (+ 1 star)! Now, we just need more piano concertos ! :-) Update 8/5/21: The repertoire is getting better for piano (+ 1 star). Would still love to see more piano concertos! The accompaniment sounds great through my new Yamaha CLP-95GP, but for those with older pianos, it would still be great to see Apple AirPlay supported. Original Review: Please, please, please add more piano concertos. There are exactly two and it has been that way since the beginning. There are almost no pieces for piano; the pieces that are listed as Sonata for <blank> and piano always give the other instrument’s part, and not the piano accompaniment. Sigh...so want this to be great for piano, but it’s not yet, simply due to the lack of content. Also, please allow accompaniment to be played via Airplay. Would love to stream to my Sonos system.
