Edison Calendar has brought elements of organising into my life like I have never had before, beginning Year 9 this year - it’s going to help me manage my assessments, homework, assignments and extracurricular activities that I would otherwise sometimes forget without the help of someone reminding me. This application is must have for students in high school, university or for those who wish to be more organised.
Love but could use work
I love the app (in theory). When setting the time for a todo thing, it can be glitchy; It would be better if it was a scroll not a type in. It would also be cool if it could sync with apple calendar.
The mediocre progression of technology marches on
I relied on Edison for about a year and a half to make sure I didn't miss deadlines, and it worked. This app (Mighty Day) has many of the same features, but setting the times on tasks is fun though a bit difficult, I haven't figure out if there's a way to have subtasks without assigning them a time (they're not allowed to overlap), the app seems to require internet access, and marking weekly tasks complete doesn't seem to actual go through, they just keep reappearing. If going back to Edison were an option I would, but my phone accidentally switched to auto-update and now this is all I have I guess. It's nice, I just wish we could have nice things without also breaking the perfectly good old ones. I came here to complain, but all in all it does fulfill a need I have at the best price (free).
Great Concept! But...
Creating sub tasks is infuriating 😂
I have been on the lookout for an app that allows me to put my tasks on a horizontal timeline for longer than I can say. The moment I saw MightyDay, I downloaded it immediately.
However, trying to add sub tasks is more complicated than it needs to be.
For example, I added my first task of the day which was Morning Routine. I then wanted to divide it into sub tasks such as get dressed, bathroom, contacts, brush hair.
Each task takes only a minute or two, but the app defaulted to let the smallest time amount be only five minutes. You can edit the amount of time it takes for each task by typing in the correct amount of time, however, this is where it gets annoying.
Whenever I edited each subtask to only take 1-2 minutes (depending on the task, like 2 minutes to get dressed), it glitched out and reset every other sub task to take 20 minutes. I edited each one again individually and when I checked back, each subtask was now taking the appropriate amount of time to complete. But when I edited the final sub task and clicked save, it reset the sub tasks again to take 20 minutes each. I have been trying to correct it now for about 15 minutes to no avail.
I really, really want to like this app because it seems like it's everything I've been looking for. But the glitchiness is very annoying. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon
Edison was better
I’m bummed to discover I need a new goal and project management tool thanks to this merger. The new interface doesn’t give you a good overview of your projects and goals. In fact, it has renamed them “tasks” and added them to the ugly new calendar “feature”, which basically looks like a confusing and over-scheduled Google calendar with overlapping events.
Amazing Overall
I’m a self-directed home school student and have fond this app very helpful for keeping my studies organized. The ability to start at a larger goal and narrow it down has made a big change in my organization. Highly recommend giving this app a try if your in a situation like mine.
review
its a lovely app & i love the style of it. lt would be nice if it were to send me notifications though. i set reminders on it and end up forgetting to do something.
Great Potential
The app is really great and I particularly enjoy the ability to break down goals into task across different periods. This allows me to really see how my daily work is affecting my larger tasks.
Feedback or Features I would love to see:
-ability to change email with account I signed up with my email I’d love to be able to add my email in so I could login using my gmail as well
- calendar import from apple calendar or other calendar apps and the ability to have non goal events that are reoccurring such as classes or clubs or activities a student may partake in (ie. I tutor once a week and I’d love to add that into my schedule)
-ability to set up recurring tasks for a goal like practicing something daily
So good…but
This app is amazing. For goal setting, tracking and achieving there isn’t anything better. However, it really needs a calendar overview. Please, please implement that:)
Widget highly needed.
App is amazing wish it had a widget & smart watch app tho.
