The app accesses your device contacts so that you can select them when addressing emails.
The contacts are only ever stored on your device and Mimecast does not have access to them at any point.
This app allows you to access Mimecast’s Cloud Services from your iPad or iPhone. If your organization uses Mimecast Services for email security, email archiving or email continuity, this app provides seamless access to key services including the ability to:

• Instantly search and access content in your Mimecast personal email archive
• Access your ‘Online Inbox’ to keep you connected to email 24x7 – even when your corporate email server or Outlook access is down
• Manage your queue of messages on hold due to suspected spam
• Report a message as spam

So whether you’re on the road, in a meeting, or just away from your desk, you can be more productive with the Mimecast Mobile App.
To start using this app, simply download it – its free, select Add Account, and enter your company email address and password. The app will then automatically connect to the Mimecast Cloud giving you instant access to all the features available. Trouble connecting? If you are having trouble connecting to the service, it may be because you have a different password set for your Mimecast Account or that your IT department hasn’t enabled mobile access for you. Contact your IT department to help you get connected. Not sure if your organization uses Mimecast? Your IT department will be able to tell you. If your organization is already using Mimecast, encourage them to let you access the service from your mobile device so you can be even more productive.

EMM Support
The app can also be deployed via EMM platforms that support the AppConfig standards giving you access to your Mimecast services, while giving your IT department administrative control to enforce mobile security policies.

Access to the Mimecast Mobile app and services available through the app are dependent on the Mimecast Services your organization subscribes to.

Agree with some of the other comments that this is a great way to bridge the gap and have your work email on a personal phone, especially if like me you don’t like carrying two phones out of hours. Just two other features in my opinion would make this perfect. 1) notifications of new emails arriving 2) something to highlight read and unread messages. Add these in and I’d ditch outlook from all my phones.

I use this for a work alternative, and the ability to see old emails and newer emails has gone it shows irrelevant emails

Doesn’t seem to the ability in the settings to filter out old messages in the inbox. It shows everything and not just what is in the online inbox at the time

You might ask why you’d need it if you’re not a customer? That’s because some idiot IT departments think it’s somehow a good use of their customers’ time to log into Mimecast every time they send you a simple, non sensitive email. Duuuuuur. The idea of email is to make things faster not desperately slower. So, Mr Mimecast, I’d like you to have an app that IT department victims like me can use to access your customers’ annoying emails because this one doesn’t do the trick. Thank you.

Worked the first day I installed and used it, now for the last 4 days it just keeps saying “ loading content “ and I cannot open important emails when out of the office. Total waste of time in my opinion.

Mimecast have just removed the ability to see multiple email accounts on the app. This means you now have to log out and log back in under different emails to access them Please bring back the ability to view multiple accounts soon

Tempermental!

This app is very tempermental! Half of the time it doesn't show all my emails or in the right order. And the other half of the time it is telling me that my credentials are wrong. Useless.
