Won’t work

When ever I try to open the app it just kicks me out after a few seconds

Great but needs a few improvements

Used to be pretty good but they changed to a subscription and don’t honor lifetime membership. Apple came out with state of mind anyways which is far better. ———Previous Review —— This has been a really good tool for micro journaling. I check in hourly and it’s been really helpful to identify trends. I export the data and use it with power bi for some great analytics but it would be nice to have more powerful statistics natively. I also think there is room to improve backups to iCloud. Unfortunately it’s not an iterative backup. Once you add a lot of pictures, the backups can take a while because it deletes the database and uploads a full new one.

Bad app

A good concept but the tacking data needs work

Jjjtttwww on

The app is helpful for quick day to day mood tracking, but the analytics interface needs a LOT of work- for example if you want to search your tacked moods from last year to look at trends you should be able to quickly swipe from month to month and then zoom in to the day- but Moodys ‘month’ is still swiping one day at a time (same for year) also the notes taken regarding a particular mood at a particular time do not corrisponde and are not in order. I’ve used this to track anxiety which leads to panic attacks- but now I am trying to go back and look at specific notes and trend in a particular day I am unable to see the notes easily. This needs a user interface overhaul for this app to be practical.

Buggy, overall not great

Spent 30 minutes entering a broader variety of moods before I started actively using it. When I go to make an entry, it lets me select one mood and also shows that another random mood is selected as well; however, if I close out then entry it only shows the mood I selected. If I try to choose more than one mood, it immediately crashes so I have to create multiple events if I am feeling more than one emotion. *update* Apparently you’re only supposed to be able to choose one emotion. That’s a really dumb design decision, who only has a single emotion at a time all the time? I hate that the weekly summary only shows your emotions as emojis. You have to click into a specific day to see what a special fix emoji means. The filtering to massage the data to see the trend you’re looking for is very clunky. I tested this alongside similar apps Moodlight and iMoodJournal. I was looking for an app that let me record my moods several times a day as I’ve recently begun taking medication that can cause mood swings and my doctor recommended keeping a journal so we know if the dose needs to be adjusted in a few months. I prefer the guided ease of Moodlight but similarly to Moody, the analysis function of the app is terrible. iMoodJournal is more open-ended which seems a little daunting but I can log everything the way I want to, even medication if I’m so inclined. The analysis functionality is by far the best of the three apps. Any moods or factors that you’ve entered have a running score for the time period you’re viewing so if you’ve tagged an emotion or factor multiple times, it shows you what the average feeling score you had when you selected it. I purchased Moody at the reduced subscription rate of $5.99 and tbh even that was too much. Maybe if it was for a direct purchase vs subscription. iMoodJournal was also cheaper at $2.99 with no furth subscription necessary.

Exceptional

I have been looking for a long time for an app like this. I can record my mood and activity super fast and add a note for additional context. By analyzing the data I can easily identify correlation between my activities and mood, and see patterns in my behavior that can be improved. I love the full customization and how easy it is to use this app.

Good but very hard to cancel-

Maytag Owner55 on

This app is very good. But when it comes time to cancel they probably make it difficult for a reason. I find these tactics dishonest and wouldn’t recommend the app for that specific reason. Not cool Moody.

Please fix

VinceLopiccola on

United States

Please modify the ”sort by” filters UI screen. The filters are too tightly spaced together, making it challenging to filter and search effectively.
