Description

MRCOOL SmartHVAC App works with MRCOOL Smart Controllers to convert MRCOOL Air Conditioners & Heat Pumps to smart ones. Our smart controllers work with this App to help you convert your existing or new ACs to smart ACs. You can control your MRCOOL ACs through your smartphone or simple voice commands (our smart controllers are Alexa & Google Home enabled).
These DIY controllers are extremely easy to setup. You can automatically turn the air conditioner or heat pump OFF when you leave the premises and start to cool/heat once you arrive as per your settings. This App gives you complete control of your heating and cooling. It figures out when you're at home and when you're out and adjusts the settings to provide comfort and energy savings.
You can set weekly schedules for your air conditioners, monitor usage history, set air conditioning action in relation to your locations, see the air filter status of your AC and lot more. You can set intelligent temperature based triggers for your air conditioners by using the ‘Comfy’ feature under ‘My Rules’ section of the app. Comfy lets you set triggers to personalize the operation of your AC. It helps you automatically change your AC settings if room temperature goes above or falls below a pre-set value. It helps you reduce your energy bills with lot of convenience.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

MRCOOL SmartHVAC Reviews

Excellent customer service from Ian for the phone app

Today I called the customer support for the Mr. cool iPhone app. And Ian helped me walk through and set up heat and cool comfort modes and schedules to activate the comfort temperature modes. Ian was very attentive, listened very well, and was very clear and his step-by-step instructions. Maybe I could’ve figured it all out myself with a lot of trial and error. But, Ian made it easy to set up a complete summer schedule for me using the comfort modes to automatically turn on and turn off the heating or cooling depending on the room temperature.

Still Early Days

So far have not been impressed by the functioning of the manufacturers app. The app does not appear able to effectively communicate with the unit and does not know if the state of the unit was changed either manually or via the physical remote. Very inefficient way to try and manage a device. Also, some of the core functionality contained in the remote is not contained in the app. This is very odd as to be accessible via the remote means that the base code hooks are available, but apparently just not utilized in the application itself.

Works intermittently

Jef123:; on

The app does work. However, not reliably. All of my issues revolve around schedules. I have found that I must hard reboot about every 2 weeks to reenable scheduling that just stops. The issue is not intermittent WiFi because the schedule does not resume at any point. Behavior is stuck at the last setting before schedules stopped working. As mentioned a hard reset fixes the issue for about 2 weeks. Since I don’t know when this will happen I cannot leave anything really temperature sensitive in the space because the unit may not come on as expected.

Very convenient
