My Consumer Cellular Reviews

DATA USAGE METER IN APP DOESN’T MATCH ACTUAL

sgeffe on

United States

With a recent change, this app appears to “miss” data usage, and underreports it compared to the usage shown on the Web site.

Seemingly Inaccurate Data Usage Statistics

Cuthbert63 on

United States

I received a text message that I exceeded the 50GB limit of high speed data for the period. (I don’t necessarily disagree.) However, the app shows a usage of only 33.9GB with an estimated period usage of 46.2GB. I have cellular data turned off most of the time and I haven’t used any data-intensive apps in the recent past. I also signed off/on or the MyCC app to ensure accurate stats.

App lacks features

roeboat72 on

United States

This app pretty much just lets you check data usage and pay your bill. It doesn’t let you do account changes or anything. You still end up having to call or go to the website to do most things. You can’t add lines, change lines, buy a device, or anything else. So in the end its usefulness is extremely limited.

I have never in my life had to call customer service as with cc. Everytime I click the app I have to create a new password

PERHAPS THE WORST APP EVER!

IpadAlan on

United States

We are CC customers with 2 different CC accounts. We like CC, except for its App. 1. Hard to believe how difficult and nearly impossible it is to receive a log-in Code from this App. With prior versions we received the Code quickly, but with the newer versions the Codes seldom ever arrive. We've tried this on 3 different browsers, a Windows desktop, 2 different iphones, and 4 different ipads. Alternative log-in methods are "disabled for security reasons". 2. Customer Support has been unable to help. 3. We now rely on the CC website to see our invoices (which we cannot figure out how to access on the App). SUGGESTION FOR CC: ASK SOME TYPICAL CC USERS TO TEST NEW VERSIONS OF THE APP. SUGGESTION #2: WHEN CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS UNABLE TO SOLVE A CUSTOMER'S PROBLEM OFFER TO HAVE A SECOND-LEVEL CC SUPPORT PERSON REACH OUT TO THE CUSTOMER.

Not good if you need data!

Despite signing up for an unlimited data plan this company caps your data—and the phones they sell are locked so you are forced to deal with them—or no one! Don’t do it!!

Service declined since required new Sim card installed

nmasente on

I’ve been with Consumer Cellular for 10 years and have been very pleased with it, I have recommended several people to Consumer Cellular in the past. However, the requirement to change my Sim card has denigrated my experience to the point that I am looking at possibly changing carriers. four times I have contacted Consumer Cellular about extending the number of rings from 3 to 6, which is what I had prior to the Sim card change. No matter what I do the most I get is 22 seconds and four rings. I do not have my phone attached to my hip, and that is not enough time to allow me to get to my phone. The last time I called about this, I was told there was nothing else they could do and it was a problem with the device. How could the device cause problems that I didn’t have before the Sim card change? In addition, most of the time I only have one bar of service. Twice they have downloaded data to supposedly improve the service and I received two bars for several hours to two days, then I am back to one bar. I have gone from being a highly satisfied customer to being one who is barely hanging on.

Good service but

Rudimentary App

Finitimi on

United States

I can check my data usage and pay my bill using the app. That’s about it, it’s missing a lot of functionality.
