If this had an attendance feature(keep track of what classes I attended by marking them somehow) it’d be perfect
I expected it to be a bad app, but it’s actually okay and is making much more organised and less distressed than I thought! 5 star rating!
It crashes everytime i try to open
I started using MyStudyLife in college because I couldn’t grasp Notion. Now I’d rather sit and use a paper planner. I understand the need to create an update, but the expensiveness of what was added takes away from the original reason many people loved the app. There’s too much extra stuff and the fact that dark mode is behind is paywall is jaw dropping. It was very user friendly and I recommended it to everyone around me. The new version does not fit what I need. It’s become too complicated, too extra, too many pay walls and too many steps for something that used to be easy, straightforward, and simple. A simple something to tell me when my assignments are due has become too complicated to do that. If you have it in you to learn how use Notion, do that instead of paying for stuff on this app. There’s plenty of YouTube tutorials and it’s free.
I used this app for the first two years of my college career. I loved it so much. I told every single student I knew about it. Then, they decided to completely overhaul the app over the summer. First, they introduced premium features. Great. Fine. I get you need to have money to keep the app running. If they’d been introduced using the old system, I may have considered buying premium just to support the devs. Except, they weren’t introduced using the old system. They were introduced using the new, broken system. In two years of using MyStudyLife prior to the overhaul, I never once had to contact support. Over the course of this semester, I contacted support no less than five times due to bugs. This wouldn’t be an issue if it weren’t for the quality of the support offered. Support staff took too long to answer and hardly offered helpful advice. In the most recent and most egregious example, I sent in a support query at the beginning of last month. It took them a week to respond to the initial message. I sent a follow up message, saying I had partially fixed the issue (without their help), but was now having another issue related to and preventing me from fixing the initial issue. It took them OVER A MONTH to respond to that follow up. Their response didn’t even address the issue I was having. I am so disappointed that I can no longer recommend this app. I’ve deleted my account due to the amount of issues I’ve faced this semester. To those reading this review wondering if you should download the app in its current state: don’t. To those reading this review from MyStudyLife: I understand these issues are likely not your fault, and some higher up probably decided everything needed to change. Regardless, thanks for two years of great scheduling help and I sincerely hope you can fix the problems with the app.
If you are looking for a new app until MyStudyLife brings back or fixes the issues addressed. Use “smart timetable”, it’s similar and simple.
I started using this at the beginning of the current semester (which has 1-2 weeks left). But because classes had already started, I only had enough free-time to input bigger things (like exams, breaks, or important classes/dates), nonetheless, I love it!! Next semester I will definitely use the rest of the features this app provides. :D I do want to report a bug though. (Hence the 4/5 stars) After falling back one hour for the seasonal time change, everything that I added a time to is off by an hour. Now, here’s the silly thing: I read the recent bug updates, and about 2 or 4 weeks ago (1-2 updates ago) the developers mentioned fixing a timing issue that sounded similar. So, I’m not sure what the current status is there… but I do know it’s still bugged out for me. (And yes, my phone and app are fully updated. I checked!) :)
I used My Study Life all throughout college and for the first semester of Grad school, but this new update completely ruined the once amazing app. It is now incredibly unintuitive, and it has lost the simplicity and clarity that My Study Life used to have. Now, the app is full of bugs, and it’s impossible to navigate. If they change the app back, I could wholeheartedly endorse it. However, with this current addition of the app, I have to give it one star because of how poorly it is set up. I really do love the original version of My Study Life, but the new update takes away all of its original helpfulness. If things change and go back to the way they used to be, then I would download the app and give it five stars in a second. For now, though, it is a one star app.
Y'all made a great system that could've been tweaked for improvements! And then the new update completely changed it? Normally i understand UI updates, but now we have to pay for features we would have previously gotten for free? The old interface was much more intuitive and convenient for customizing types of schedules. I don't know why y'all revamped it with a worse interface. I'm going to switch to Notion now...
