MyChildAtSchool Reviews

Cannot delete announcements

Only gave a 3 star review because as a parent I am unable to manage my own announcements folder. The app would be better if it would allow parents to delete announcements that don’t apply to them.

I don’t find this App very intuitive at all. Literally can’t see how to add extra dinner money

My friend didn’t have a great experience

It started as a normal day at Fairview High. Students bustled through the hallways, chatting and laughing, oblivious to the dark shadow creeping into their lives. The school had recently implemented the Bromcom student app, promising to streamline communication between teachers, students, and parents. The administration touted its benefits: instant updates on grades, homework assignments, and school announcements. Sophia, a diligent senior, downloaded the app during lunch. She was always meticulous about her studies and figured the app would help her stay organized. As she installed it, she felt a slight unease, a momentary chill, but she shrugged it off as nothing more than a draft in the old school building. That night, as Sophia lay in bed, her phone buzzed with a notification from the Bromcom app. She unlocked her phone to see a new message: "New assignment due tomorrow. Check now." Sophia frowned. She didn't remember any new assignment being mentioned. She opened the app, and her screen flickered briefly before displaying her assignment list. At the top was a new entry: "Research Project - Due Tomorrow - 10,000 Words." Her heart raced. How could she possibly finish that in one night? She tried to text her friend Emma to see if she had received the same message, but her texts wouldn't go through. A gnawing sense of dread settled in her stomach. The next day, Sophia asked her classmates about the assignment. None of them had received the same notification. Confused and exhausted from a sleepless night, she showed the message to her teacher, Mrs. Porter. "This isn't on my assignment list," Mrs. Porter said, frowning at Sophia's phone. "Must be some kind of glitch." Sophia felt a wave of relief. But as she sat down in her next class, her phone buzzed again. Another notification from the Bromcom app: "Stay after school for detention." Sophia's blood ran cold. She had never been in trouble before. She raised her hand to ask her teacher about it, but before she could speak, her vision blurred and the room around her seemed to warp and twist. She heard faint whispers, unintelligible but menacing, echoing in her mind. When the final bell rang, Sophia walked hesitantly to the detention room. The halls were eerily empty, and the usual after-school noise was conspicuously absent. She reached the room, its door slightly ajar, and pushed it open. Inside, the room was dark, save for the faint glow from the Bromcom app on her phone. She stepped inside, and the door s

Annoying to Make Payments

This app is ok, however it is really annoying that I need to type my address out and enter card details every time I need to pay for something or top up my child’s dinner money balance. There is no option for convenient payment methods like Apple Pay or PayPal, which makes this a chore every time. The previous app my child used, and apps my other child uses at a different school make payments far easier and more convenient.

Needs an update/fix

LouR2 on

United Kingdom

A good app but it needs an update or fix as notifications show up and stay on even when you’ve read messages and you can’t clear them, it’s so frustrating. It’s good to have the message function for schools to send updates and great to see your child’s timetable but please sort the notification issue out.

Waste of time

Had high hopes for this and was excited to get it for my children’s school, the app is basic, no information is on there and I can’t add siblings

Worst school app possible.

Mollyzipcat on

Honestly if I could leave a minus stars review I would. It is so glitchy, doesn’t respond. Can’t look at the messages properly, can’t change between children easily. I have no idea why schools still use it, it’s beyond frustrating.

Shoddy

Badly programmed, poorly integrated with my child’s school. Nothing to like about it as it does everything badly. Even selecting menu options frequent doesn’t work.
