Best app by far for credit score info but expensive

spkurland on

United States

Of all the basic credit report/score sites and apps out there (CreditWise, Karma & Sesame, WalletHub, etc), most of which give you your VantageScore, except Experian’s site which does provide you with your FICO 8 score for free (but not much else without paying), the myFICO app is by far the best. Even AnnualCreditReport (technically weekly now) doesn’t provide a score, FICO or VS. Not only because it’s part of FICO itself, but the wealth of info here is incredible, it’s laid out well, pretty easy to navigate, and aesthetically pleasing. However, it’s VERY expensive; $39.99 for the top tier subscription, which still only provides a 3-bureau report refresh once a month. I mean, come on. For $40 bucks a month? Look, I want to be up to date and able to check my credit regularly, and I like the fact it’s coming directly from FICO, but even the standard paid tier is $29.99. That’s also a lot for one month with less benefits than the premier price. 4/5 starts solely due to the expense.

Credit monitoring alerts need clarity

Noluckforthisiphoneuser1590 on

The app had a great UI/UX with useful info .. for the most part. My request is to please make the credit and identity monitoring alerts easier to understand and act upon. I have no idea what the credit alerts mean or what to do with them.

Free membership is inaccurate and a joke

traskriverman on

United States

It reports only Equifax which consistently reports partial credit and rates down about 30-40 points below the other bureaus. You are pushed toward expensive monthly subscriptions to get your accurate credit reporting to include other reporting agencies. Of the numerous apps available, I found CreditWise, Credit Karma, Experian, etc to be more accurate and helpful.

Keeps logging me out

RST Clerk on

United States

I’ve had this app for at least 5 or 6 years and love it. However, I’m temporarily knocking it down a star because lately I keep getting logged out, then asked to sign back in and create a new PIN. I don't like this new trend at ALL. For years, this app worked exactly as it should: easy access on your own device by entering your pin. Being logged out (again, on your own device) and asked to re-enter a password all the time is annoying and disconcerting; if it continues, then I’ll have to look at canceling and going with a different service.

INSANE

$40 a month? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA who do you think you are?

An absolute scam

Xradufycog on

United States

If you try to check your score for free they say it isn’t available. Then when you try to delete your account they say it isn’t possible. Even called their customer service and my time was wasted. They will hold your data hostage, STAY AWAY.

Cannot finish sign up

SpicyLA86 on

United States

The app gives a message that states that my order has been processed, but then it asks for my birthday and social security number. I enter the info and press “submit” but nothing happens after that. This is both on the app and the website. I also called customer service and the guy I spoke to was completely useless.

Redid the app and didn't check for issues first

Typical low quality developer activities, nothing to see here

FICO is #1 for acurate Credit Reporting

chitown1981 on

United States

This is my third time using FICO services to obtain my consumer credit report and scores. FICA is #1 for acurate consumer credit reporting in the US. The only small drawback though, is after subscribing for only $19 you still have to call in to get an official identity verification for example, past/present addresses, DOB, past/present employers, installment loans, etc. If you don't have the time or money for this important verification STEP I would highly recommend requesting your credit data from the Lexington Law Firm.

Website Surveillance Useless

aft3rglow on

United States

MyFICO’s “dark web surveillance” is completely useless, and has been for years. - It doesn’t tell you even the slightest clue of WHAT website was compromised, so there’s no possible way to take action and change your password. “Just letting you know you got hacked!” while you feel powerless to do anything about it, and their useless customer phone support doesn’t care and doesn’t help. - It truncates your email address—not for security, just a bug they’ve had for years and never fixed. Aside from said identity monitoring being useless, they also employ several dark patterns—they’ll send you a notification saying your credit score changed, for example, but it doesn’t say if it changed up or down or to what, you have to log into their archaic app to see it. Do better…
