I downloaded this app and deleted it the same day. The app doesn’t allow you to simply report an issue you must select from a list and in my case my problem wasn’t listed. Sadly the app wasn’t useful AT ALL.

App is wonky, no back button if you make the wrong selection. Navigation is not intuitive nor user friendly. You can’t easily go from one section to another. I had to close out the app several times to navigate back to home.
Not surprisingly, the KCMO app is AWFUL…not intuitive, cumbersome, and you’re really never sure your request was a) submitted, or b) received. Calling is not much better but at least you talk to someone (usually who is clearly not enthralled with their job, customer service be damned)
Change font of the header to something lighter - cannot see the text when in submission mode
Most reviews for the app have been done a very long time ago, but over the short time that I’ve had the app - like about two months - there have been many updates improving the app. For instance, I was on my way home from work when I noticed a traffic signal out right near my home, I submitted a report on the app (very easily I might add), and when I was leaving to go to work the next morning they had a crew working on the light. Crazy great app - I hope more people start using it and help get the rating up on it!
App and website keep failing to send issues regarding my missed leaf pickup.
So I also repeatedly experienced the timeout issues with both the map and submission portions of reporting a violation. But after a few tries and repeatedly being met with the “request timed out” or similar error, it seemed like I had gotten to the next stage of reporting my issue where I got to upload photos. This also timed out several times until I eventually gave up and closed the app. BUT THE REPORT HAD SEEMINGLY BEEN PROCESSED WHEN I OPENED THE APP AGAIN. So don’t give up altogether. This app is unfettered KCMO garbage for sure. But there appears to be a degree of functionality to it despite its constant insistence that it’s not working. Maybe it’s a metaphor for living in KC or next to a Celtic Management property. Maybe we did something to deserve this.
I am a municipal super fan who assumes all good things of hard working city employees who do the impossible daily. But if I worked on this app, I’d be embarrassed and sick. The app is absolutely horrible, often worse than nothing, and the server often doesn’t respond or is slow. I am forced to use email half the time. Delete this app and server and start over on design and coding. But citizens, it’s what we have, so please never give up on 311. Take photos!
The app has come a long way since first launching. I use it all the time and am thankful to our city for making a tool like this available to us.
