iPhone user - randomly closed mid ride

Feeneymi on

Ireland

Tried this app on my up to date iPhone. I only used it twice and the app closed mid ride both times. On reopening the app all progress was lost ☹️. Back to my paid subscription with Zwift for now.

Thankfully it’s free

I cannot believe the Developers have this little known app for free, it’s really good and up there with the other similar (expensive) cycling apps. The only thing missing is the Ant+ option and unfortunately I don’t have a smart trainer to use the app properly. Please add it soon and thanks for not being greedy and charging for this great product.

Good app with a few drawbacks

NickGornick on

Overall this is a great app for virtual riding. Very comparable to Zwift, but without the large user base (maybe this will change in the future) I have 3 issues with the app: 1. This app seems to disable the trackpad on my ipad when it’s open. I’m unable to use the trackpad to navigate the dock, other apps, etc when MyWhoosh is full screen. 2. I don’t think it saves your rides? I can’t go back and pull up my previous rides through the app. This only works through a third party app. 3. Steering: Steering is very clunky. Maybe this will change in the future, but using a the screen isn’t very intuitve or useful. Some hardware solutions in the future would be nice.

Great first indoor cycling app

This app gets compared to zwift all the time, which I haven’t used yet so I don’t have a frame of reference, however, if you’re just starting to get into indoor cycling and you have a smart bike, this is a very decent choice. Pros: For one it’s free, and it doesn’t feature any ads popping up in the middle of your ride so I can’t be too critical with it overall. I think there’s a decent selection of tracks to choose from whether you’re into sprints or hill climbs or just wanna cruise in zn2 for a few hours. The achievement list and customization for your avatar are not too intrusive that it ruins the atmosphere but fun enough that you can appreciate them. The exercise planning and the predetermined workouts are useful for getting a baseline for your fitness level and for selecting a workout that will net you the greatest returns. Cons: As Someone who likes to race against his own times it would be nice to see my previous time on the route I’m riding; Having a ghost avatar is nice, but it only gives you a general idea of your best pace. I would also like to see my best time on the route selection menu (preferably my top three or five would be nice) So I have a target in mind to beat. I suppose it’s nice to have some bots populate the route that you’re currently riding, but when 80% of the other riders are bots The whole experience feels hollow; in most racing games you can race against a ghost in time trial of someone who has posted a time slightly better than yours - I would much prefer racing against this than bots.

Can’t even log in

i’m on Apple TV and I can’t even get character input to work, sometimes requires multiple button presses to get anything to happen. i’ve been added for 10 minutes and I’m giving up.

Disappointing

Followed instructions to download the Link app and the app for ATV. The ATV app, however, will not load - it crashes every time following the logo appearing after opening. Headed back to Zwift app.

Apple TV app is horrible

I get logged out every time there’s an update, I can’t use the keyboard on my phone to type username or password, can’t copy and paste from my password manager. I don’t think they want people to use it

Can’t even get it to load on Apple TV

7194661937 on

I downloaded the app and upon launch it says it needs to download an additional 2.8ish GB of data to launch. After accepting it the download begins, it downloads Australia, Colombia, and then crashes while downloading Arabia. I tried a dozen more times, but every time it failed at the same spot. I deleted the app and retried twice but got the same result. I’d definitely love to try this app, I’m not crazy about the gimmicks in Zwift, but at least that app runs on the Apple TV. I’m not interested in trying it on my phone screen since it would be too small to see all the data I want during a training ride. Oh well.

Won’t connect

Updated app and now it won’t connect with my workout bike.
