NASA FAQ
Is NASA free?
Yes, NASA is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is NASA legit?
🤔 The NASA app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
NASA ruined this app! The current version makes it impossible see an array of images as it had for years. It’s not worth the time to have to scroll through one image by one image to eternity. NASA was once such a pleasure to use and enjoy. Now it’s next to impossible to find our favorites. It’s sickening NASA has gone down this road. This app is over.
Apple TV episodes aren’t listed/accessible
Mission: make episodes show up under the series tab on Apple TV. Go NASA, go!
Notifications
Before they redesigned the app, I would get notifications when the ISS was going to pass in my area. No more. Settings seem to be the same.
Awesome!
I love this app, is very helpful, and also very informative and educational. This is a great way to learn about the universe and space. Thanks NASA for making such a great impact on mankind exploration.

Radio, podcasts, NASA + and more while on the Go.
Where do I notify bugs/issues?
Use to love playing images and listening to Third Rock radio but haven’t been able to hear anything for almost a year now. We have two Apple TV’s and both will not play Third Rock radio. It’s unfortunate that there isn’t a better way to notify of this issue. I understand that many developers / businesses can’t economically work through the quantity of misused submissions through a feedback system; unfortunate that honest actionable feedback is hard to leave. Hope you see this NASA App developer's.
ISS Tracking
Starting about three days ago, the world view map to see the path of ISS does not work. I am using an iPhone 15pro.
Latest update stinks
Why is it now impossible to find the two NASA live streams in the app? The new UI still sinks. Is there no longer two continuous live streams? One for public and one press? If so they can’t be found in the new UI of the app.
Please stop making changes. The “new” app is broken - Now it’s FIXED
4-3-24 looks like another update and it’s broken again. Every night I look at the new images and send to my sisters with the send icon. Whatever you did recently messed it up again. I can send the picture, but the link used to take them to the APOD site so they could read the description of the picture. Now all it is sending is the picture with no description. Can you fix this?
3-24-24 Another Update: It’s FIXED!! Made some upgrades and wrote to me telling me they hope I like the improvements! I LOVE the improvements! It’s actually like the rolled back to the original version. As they always say - If it ain’t broke - don’t fix it. Can Zoom properly and the description of the picture is on the same page, so you can see what is being described in the picture. Thanks NASA! Update: they fixed the ability to close the picture. Again, nothing changed with my phone, so obviously this was a bug. Also fixed the zoom feature. Do not have to double tap, can zoom straight from the picture on the screen. Now if they would put the description back with the picture instead of on a separate page, we will be golden. This was always my favorite app. No longer. My favorite was the APOD: Astronomy Picture of the Day and other images. Something happened with the interface and I can’t close the picture after opening. I have to completely close the app and reopen in order to look at anything else. That’s a bug. I wrote to the developers and all they could say was my least favorite response: “We are not seeing this issue on any of our test devices”. That really doesn’t matter, because I’m seeing it on my device and I find that response very dismissive. Then they asked me about my phone iOS and model. That also shouldn’t make any difference because the only thing that changed was the app - not my phone. Everything was working fine til they changed the app. The information about the picture is now on a different page. It used to be superimposed over the picture so one could look at the parts of the image being described simultaneously while reading the description. Overall, the new app is very difficult to use and navigate through. Why change a good thing?
It’s back!
I am very happy that they fixed the image widget and made reading the captions on images easy again. After Apollo was killed by Reddit, the broken NASA widget essentially destroyed my Home Screen. And while nothing has brought back the rotating pictures of cuteness from Reddit on my Home Screen, NASA IS BACK! I get my daily reminder of our awesome space agency and just general space and cosmology news. I am so glad they fixed this. I am back to being a daily user again.
