- Save time and money on your instrument and initial flight training.
- Prepare for your instrument rating or proficiency check.
- Test your NAV situational awareness with the test mode.
- Flight instructors: the perfect tool to help you easily explain and demonstrate complex radio navigation concepts to your students.
***Features:***
-Dual navigation displays.
-VOR\NDB trainer screen: Simulates VOR and NDB navigation using VOR, HSI, ADF and RMI displays.
-ILS trainer with both VOR and HSI displays.
-DME visualization screen - demonstrates how DME slant range distance is affected by ground distance and altitude.
-Test mode - generates phantom aircraft around the navaids. Your goal is to find the correct aircraft position.
-Drag and drop the aircraft and nav fix around the screen.
-Fly! mode - Make the airplane fly around the screen. great for practicing intercepting and tracking courses.
-Wind direction & velocity control.
-Aircraft tracing (contrail mode).

Excellent, and it has an RBI!
Wonderful as an instructing tool to introduce my students to VOR and NDB tracking and interception. Particularly useful is the Relative Bearing Indicator (RBI). Lots of training aircraft do not have a more expensive RMI, and if, like me, you teach NOT to use the rotatable compass card on the RBI (if you have one) because it’s too easy to forget to ‘twist’ it, then this I think is the ONLY app that offers a pure RBI.
Stick to basic version
The PRO version doesn't offer all that much more over the basic. Would be more useful if it would give you radials to intercept and routes to fly for the tests. Save your money.
Amazing
Now that I have a good grasp of intercepting radials, this software does confirm that my knowledge is indeed true by simulating on my phone.
A must buy. Saves you flying hours up with an instructor!
Excellent App
I'm doing the UK IMC rating and this app is superb for practicing with NDBs, VORs and the ILS. Simple to use and set up, and very powerful for demonstrating wind effects, etc. For £4.99, worth every penny and will be useful long after I get the rating.
Only comment would be to suggest having a " hide map" option once a situation is set up so you fly it all on instruments, and also making the wind setting icon moveable.
Excellent Navigation trainer
This product has helped me tremendously , it's trains you to mentally realise your position in the air and makes it a lot easier to understand the nav aid behaviours . The developer support. Service is first class and reply extremely promptly and takes onboard any useful suggestion . This program is already good at this price range and the fact that the developer is also a commercial pilot he has ensured that that everything reacts like the real things and I can't wait for the future improvements
*** MUST HAVE FOR ANY PILOT TRAINING FOR IMC OR IR ***
Well done and I look look forward to the future amendments ,

Not a RANT but good practice
Good for practicing NDB tracking with a fixed card or RMI
Would be good to stick a runway in somewhere to practice procedures and not convinced by the ILS thingy
That said good instrumentation options
all schools should use this
if just schools used this everyone would have much easier understand
these hard to learn subjects.
VOR
Great App to help develop tracking techniques. Add a rate one turn button and stopwatch and it would be perfect!
Nav trainer
Needs a setting where you can hide aircraft. Apart from that 5 stars.
Much Improved!
The latest version is a significant improvement! The addition of a second beacon, and the ability to scale the
Map make this a much more useable training aid.
Now please can we have the ability to set the wind speed and direction to match current conditions?
This App is aimed at low hours pilots coming new to radio navigation, and they are never likely to fly with
Winds of 35 - 40 kts.
That aside, this is a really useful guide to how radio navigation works!
