Newsletter Reader by Meco Reviews

Great concept but I’m not convinced

kgs987 on

I’ve been using this app for quite some time and I’m just not convinced that this is the way to go for newsletters, nor that this is the app to do it. There are bugs in the iPadOS version (random crashes, crashes when swiping many emails in a row, inability to send back to GMail random senders) that have been there for as long as I’ve been using it. Lots of new functionality apparently, but I feel like (as is normal) features are being prioritized in order to sell Pro versions. Not to mention it’s really slow while importing all of the new messages every time because it doesn’t do that unless the app is open. I’m also not convinced that off-loading all of my newsletters to another app is all that productive. I’ve just become more ruthless about unsubscribing to ones that don’t provide value. Every time I open Meco I spend most of the time swiping things to delete them. That the app crashes when I do this doesn’t help the experience. I’ll probably come back to this in a few months and try again, but for now it’s not for me.

Best newsletter reader so far

I have been using this app for couple of weeks and it has turned out to be the best newsletter reading app so far. I have subscribed to hundreds of newsletters and my mailbox looks like a jungle. This app has been helping organize the newsletter and clear the mailbox clutter.

Love this app, free, no adds and all news transferred at the same location

Excellent idea; still too buggy

Love the plan, but constant crashing on both iOS and iPadOS means I have to delete, reverse the inbox changes, and try again in 3-6 months. Too bad

Slow and Buggy

I subscribed so my daily news sources would all be in one place, but they always take several minutes to load and the app crashes often.

Too buggy

Great in concept but doesn’t really make it easier to get through my newsletters mainly because it crashes/closes regularly. The app remains visible in the app switcher it just exits out to the Home Screen. Way too frequently.

Good

Performance of the app matters a lot for reading and it’s slow for my taste. Otherwise good concept. I have high hopes. Update: I am improving my rating because the team and customer support is very good. They keep following up and try to help. Give the app a try.

Would love Text-To-Speech

To make this ideal, and therefore worth paying for, I would love an option to have the newsletters narrated and able to be arranged in an automatic queue.

Love Meco!

I dreamed of an app like this during the newsletter explosion over the last few years, so I’m really happy to be onboard and clear out my inbox while still reading all the newsletters I care about.
