Newsletter Reader by Meco

I like the idea of this app, but I somehow can't log in using my Google account (there's always an unexpected error message). Hope this gets fixed soon.

Great app, but despite all its great features, the experience of reading dark text on a small, bright white phone screen isn’t very pleasant. They have “dark mode,” but it doesn’t affect the reading view. Older reviews mention this, so I guess it just isn’t a priority? Oddly enough, Gmail has this simple feature, so I will probably stick with that for the time being. If the core newsletter reading experience of a newsletter reader app isn’t pleasant, then I’m not gonna use it for long.

This is the best Newsletter Reader App! I've tried Yahoo News, Substack, Feedly. Just needs some extra bells and whistles to customize the experience and make sure it's consistent across iOS, iPadOS, and Desktop. Would pay $1-2 for it now.

I’ve tried numerous newsletter apps (Matter, Readwise Reader, Slick Inbox, Stoop Inbox) and web services (Mailscribe, Subscrib) and Meco is my favorite. It has the most seamless user interface workflow—from adding newsletters to moving on to the next ones to searching and filtering—and feels polished all around. Like many people these days I try to stay away from Gmail and think twice before granting apps access to my email accounts. That's why I tried all the other apps mentioned above before Meco. I read the privacy policy and FAQ, and the developer seems uninterested in the shady business of selling customer data, which is great, but you never know these days. So I ended up creating a new Gmail dedicated to Meco and newsletters. I'm glad I did. A new Gmail for Meco is a good idea even if you aren't concerned about privacy, because Meco creates many Gmail labels and filters for its functionality. One idea I have for the developer is to at least nest those labels under an umbrella label "Meco" so the UUID messiness can be hidden from view. I noticed that Meco-created labels are hidden by default, but it still creates a mess on the sidebar when the label list is expanded. Other than that, I highly recommend this well-designed app. Kudos to the development team!

I love this app. I’m no longer hesitant to subscribe to more newsletters because I know they’ll all end up organized (and out of my inbox) in Meco.

I like the the intention, but my app keeps crashing when I’m in the middle of reading

Does it’s job cleanly and smoothly. Just what I was looking for!

App has been amazing up until the previous 2 updates. Maybe just my experience but I have had to delete and reinstall the app to get it from crashing constantly. The default welcome screen pops up but when in the main page to view newsletters the app crashes

This is the type of app I have been looking for. It only needs one more feature for me to upgrade the rating to 5 starts. The reader built into the app needs dark mode. Everything else has been great. Works fast, loads all my newsletters, easy to add new newsletters, easy to sort and filter newsletters. All around great app. Just need the dark mode in the built in reader.
