Nexomon Reviews

Gameplay is decent

I like how the nexomon has different features but I don’t know where the group is meeting and if it’s in the left hallway I can’t find the keys so I’ll rate it an 8/10

Annoying features

I find it annoying that there are few times where we have to fight minions then a boss STRAIGHT after and that there is no repel system to walk freely in caves without getting jump every 4 seconds

Very nice game

Dude this is by far the best game on iOS. Perfect unique storyline. Hooked and completed the game in 3 days. Enjoyed the little jokes and puns. Felt like I relived my Nintendo time again. Looking forward for the next sequel.

Worth a buy at $5

The gameplay is decent. The highlight of this game has to be the dialogue, almost any scene with text is almost certain to have some chuckle worthy moments. Came for the grind but stayed for the story For those that want to research what level things evolve at or like looking at numbers and stats, the interface is not intuitive.

It is fun and good but you cannot continue if u do not pay so that is kind of bad and they should make it to where it has a side quest that needs to pay

Surprisingly good

Didn’t expect to enjoy this game as much as I am. Everything looks good and runs smoothly. The one drawback, that isn’t even much of a drawback, is the fact that this game is not as challenging as Pokémon yellow (if you know, you know). Regardless, If you’re a Pokémon fan then the full version of this game is well worth the $3. Actually, drawback #2, no mini map of any kind, unless I’m missing something. Still a good game though. Add a map and its the best game on the marketplace.

Seems more focused on the humans than the Nexomon.

I’ve taken an interest in the monster taming genre, so this was a natural game to check out. It’s obviously trying to be Pokemon, which is fine, but something about it feels artificial. The Nexomon feel like stylized animals more than characters in themselves, and for the most part are pretty forgettable. The fact that there are so many different kinds packed into every patch of grass only exacerbates this. You don’t get to know any before another one is shoved in your face. Compare this to a similar game, Coromon, which makes it a point to integrate their monsters into the culture of each town. Oddly, the game seems to put a lot of energy into making the humans vibrant and unique. Every NPC looks like a main character, to the point where all the anime in the first city almost felt like sensory overload. The human characters themselves are well written and memorable, easily making them one of the best parts of the game, but they dominate the game’s screen time. There’s nothing wrong with having strong human characters, but with the previous criticism it makes the soul of the game feel like it’s all Ash and no Pikachu, if you get my point. Lastly, this game has no problem letting you know that it is in fact a game at every opportunity. By the time I was prompted for this review, there were like five times when a character made a self aware joke about RPG tropes or even broke the fourth wall. That’s fine now and then, but this game overdoes it. Couple this with the microtransaction button always being onscreen, and immersion is next to impossible. It also feels like the resources are very limited, as a way of making paying a major mechanic rather than an option, but at this point I’ll have to come back later to confirm if it’s as big of an issue as it could be.
