WHAT IS OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER (OCD)?
OCD is a common psychiatric disorder that involves repetitive, unwanted thoughts that cause anxiety, and compulsive behaviors done in an attempt to reduce this anxiety. Commonly misunderstood as nothing more than a personality quirk, OCD usually involves intense distress and can become completely debilitating when left untreated.

IS NOCD THERAPY EFFECTIVE?
NOCD live video therapy has been shown to be as effective as face-to-face therapy. Our model has been backed by research from the Columbia University Medical Center, which found a reduction in OCD severity by an average of 40% in 8 weeks of NOCD Therapy.

WHO ARE NOCD THERAPISTS?
NOCD’s extensive therapist network includes licensed counselors, psychologists, and social workers. Every NOCD Therapist receives specialty training in exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, the most effective OCD treatment. All NOCD therapists are managed by our clinical leadership team of experts who have 20+ years of experience treating OCD and have designed some of the world’s top OCD treatment programs.

IS NOCD SECURE?
Our services are powered by AWS and Aptible, both of which are fully SOC2 and HIPAA compliant. Your therapy data is stored in our EHR that also complies with all HIPAA requirements. All medical notes and records are only accessible by you and your therapist. Furthermore, in addition to internal privacy safeguards, we regularly enlist security researchers to assess our services for vulnerabilities. Ask ppl with ocd to create unique complex password as first step?

lebed2045 on

United States

Nocd might work, but I haven’t tried it because to even get started, you have to create both a new password and a complicated one. Unlike most sensible apps that use OAuth for seamless login with Gmail or other accounts, this app forces you to create a unique, complex password. It can’t be short (low entropy = hackable) or reused from other services (risking all accounts if one gets hacked). And you still have to remember it. Why require a password at all if the app is obviously for use on iPhones? Just let us log in with Apple or Gmail using one button. The app claims to target people with low attention spans, yet the first step demands significant effort and focus without showing any value upfront. This approach is confusing and counterintuitive. I find it hard to trust the overwhelmingly positive reviews—it feels fishy. Maybe it’s popular with therapists in the U.S. or something, but as an app I found through an Instagram ad, it seems absurd. For an app aimed at people with attention issues, making them jump through hoops from the start is a poor choice. So deleted it at this step

Poor communication and instantly steals $200 from you if you’re late to a meeting. Most of these critical reviews are valid, poor experiences.

An amazing OCD community

I got on this app to look for therapy- and though they don’t take my insurance, I have found a really awesome support system on here from strangers going through the same things as me. It makes me feel so seen, and also I love being able to respond to people’s worries with coping strategies that help me. Truly an amazing digital space for people struggling with OCD

It’s helping.

All my life I’ve dealt with worry and stress and anxiety without going to a Dr. Always thought it was normal but recently after researching because my stress and anxiety are just so high right now I’ve learned that I do suffer from OCD. Thanks to finding this app I can share my feelings and high anxiety with others and hopefully get some help and advice. I am planning to go see a dr soon about what I have dealt with for so long.

Retraumatizing and triggering

FR174850 on

This is irresponsible care. Does not give proper tools and gives homework assignments to purposely trigger you and you’re just supposed to sit through it? No thank for the panic attack and major depression to make my symptoms worse. Beware. This is actually the opposite of safe patient care.

Easy to use but disliked program

Kattttttt8 on

This app is very simple to use and it was easy to get a therapist. All the people working for them seem very nice and willing to help. My therapist was nice and never made me feel judged. I started to realize I didn’t like something about the way things are done when my therapist was confusing me by asking me if my thinking was in an OCD way or trauma way. She is the expert, I am not. The way she would ask me questions confused me a lot! I also disliked how she had to ask me each session if I was suicidal. I felt that was overwhelming to have to answer every session. I had shown no signs of suicidal thoughts or ideation at the time I sought treatment for possible OCD. Using this app has made me question the diagnosis I got from their therapist. I am seeking a second opinion elsewhere and would caution anyone who hasn’t received a diagnosis beforehand to be careful when coming to this app for an answer.

Sense of belonging

Knowing that other people deal with my same symptoms and obsessions has been so helpful. I feel much less alone and more aware of my illness.
