Monster Hunter Now Reviews

Unfair mechanics and Poor level-scaling

nheil on

Australia

Progression is slowed down on purpose to force players to resort to micro-transactions. Monster difficulty scaling is exponentially increased, the developers purposely slow the dodging movement so that you can easily get damaged. All these things to promote micro transactions. Niantic is a bag company and it’s management do mot have any sense of morals. Please so not support them with your money. I hope this company goes bankrupt and goes to the ground.

Game great shops misleading

Love this game but???!! on

Australia

The game is fun by means, thinking of doing one of my first purchases for the game to support it. Shops states gems bonuses are included with the purchase that wasn’t the case. It is quite misleading and really should be taken off as it’s a joint in one purchase. Even though I want to support the app, this was really a killer even talking with the support team.

Not Bad

Chrish_12at on

Very fun but to unstable. Group events constantly load with 3 instead of 4 and switch axe ultimate regularly freezes you character in place. Not to mention other sudden crashes. Need stability patches urgently.

Too money hungry

The fact that the item box has a maximum limit is hot garbage. $30 to expand it another 5,000 spaces is a joke

Really fun game it is a lot like Pokémon go

Game breaking bug

I was really enjoying the game but the most recent update has rendered it unplayable. When I open it, I get the new cutscene for creating a Palico- and the "friend quest milestone" popup appears over it and won't go away. This has happened five times in a row. I can't play at all.

Unplayable when in a vehicle

EthoRaptor on

Australia

Good game but you can’t play it in the car which ruins the game big time. It’s the most optimal time to play a game like this and the game doesn’t allow it. Biggest fix that needs to happen

I am not a driver

But the game became unplayable when i was a passenger in the car even though i pressed the button declaring i am not a driver. Thats a bit sad because I really do want to play it but sometimes I cover more ground ( mining points ) on the way to the grocery store compared to walking around the neighborhood. Whats the point in opening the app if I can’t do anything under those circumstances.

Monster Hunter in name only

Player0412 on

To put it simply, this game is the complete antithesis of what the Monster Hunter franchise has been for the last 20 years. You cannot choose what you hunt, it has to randomly spawn on the map. You need an exorbitant number of specific and often high rarity materials that will never drop for every single minuscule upgrade, which also makes crafting a full set of armour downright impossible. You are rushed with barely a minute for each hunt, which only gets worse when monsters begin to stun you with roars and do attacks where they become unhittable (looking at Diablos). Zenny has practically no function and yet we’re given mountains of it for every task as if it means something. The monetisation is pretty horrendous, with every consumable costing premium currency and no way to slowly earn it for free like there is in other Niantic games. Edit: Opened the game on a whim after 8 months of not playing only to find that almost none of the issues above have been addressed. The only one that was, targeted hunts, was implemented in an uninteresting way that only continues to reward people living in dense populations. The rest are completely untouched or have actively gotten worse.

Great game so far
