Occidental Heroes

Sehr schönes Spiel. Vier Sterne. Sehr schlecht balanciert. Minus einen Stern. Ich verstehe ja, dass es nicht um Individuen, sondern um die ganze Söldnertruppe geht. Aber mindestens alle zwei Stunden einen TPK ist dann langweilig. Auch, wenn dann einer überlebt und irgendwo allein in der Pampa steht, bringt es ja nichts. Und wenn dann als Krönung auch in den Städten kein oder höchstens ein neuer Rekrut zur Verfügung steht, kann man nicht mehr spielen, zumal man ja auch noch ein massives Geldproblem hat. Lösungsideen: 1) Größere Gruppen, damit man den Verlust von einem oder zweien verschmerzen kann. 2) Mehr Auswahl bei neuen Rekruten, zumindest in den größeren Städten. 3) Heiler/Ärzte, die keinen Schaden anrichten, aber die Kollegen in der Schlacht heilen bzw. gleich nach der Schlacht, um den „Resolve“-Abbau zu verringern. 4) Mehr Möglichkeiten, „Resolve“ wieder aufzubauen. Ich hatte in vielen Stunden exakt einen „Flawless Victory“ und eine andere Gelegenheit, „Resolve“ zurück zu bekommen. 5) Eine gewisse Chance, sich großen Gegnertruppen einfach entziehen zu können ohne große finanzielle Verluste. Himmel, es ist ein Spiel. Da will ich mich nicht groß herumärgern. Das muss ich im Leben sonst schon genug. 6) Noch eine Idee zum Geldverdenen: Man kann Mitkämpfer, die mehr als 10 Punkte Resolve haben, in einer der vier großen Städte, wiederbeleben. Dieser Service kostet dann 0,99€ pro Wiederbelebung. Oder so. Da könntet Ihr an mir schon was verdienen. Ansonsten ein ganz tolles, kleines Spiel!

I like this game very much, it reminds me a lot of the old days. If you like roguelikes or at least are not put off by permanent death you should check this out. This is clearly a work of love.

On paper this could be a great game, everything is there a game with great potential. The issue is that the game is extremely punishing and you can expect to lose everything you’ve worked on because the enemies become stronger much faster than you. I wish i could rate this game higher but it’s extremely difficult and frustrating to progress. And calling players who don’t enjoy permadeath crybabies is a bit rude

Classic RPG. No crybaby’s allowed. Bought expanded version. Hope developer expands this. I will purchase updates as this developer is someone I want to sponsor.

I played this game many times over and when he released the updated version I paid the money because it’s one of the best games I’ve ever downloaded. That said, I did appreciate the new stories and classes of hero’s (shaman and chemist), my only wish was that the desert setting was much more developed with unique quests and able to utilize the ports. I also wish the shaman was able to be upgraded like the chemist is (getting ingredients at different cities to upgrade her attack). It seems you never know what extra animal the shaman will be able to conjure and his attack is super weak so there is not an upside to having him join, additionally if one of the animals gets hit then it doesn’t count as a flawless victory. I feel like if the developer put a lot more energy into expanding the game wayyyy past its current form he could make big money with it and really satisfy the fans. I appreciate the hard work he put into the game, as I know it’s only one guy developing it, but please keep at it and go all the way! I will be a faithful player for sure!

I have only recently started playing this game but like it a lot so far. It seems fun to play before bed in order to relax too.

Beyond excited to see that this game has had an update this year. I always wondered what happened to the developer, because in my opinion this is the best game you’ve released.
