OENO By Vintec is your virtual cellar management app and personal sommelier, powered by Vivino.
With OENO, wine lovers can effortlessly keep track of which wines they have, where they are located in their cellar(s) and know how to enjoy them at their best – with expert recommendations on when to open bottles, serving temperatures, decanting and glassware.
Whether you have a wine cabinet, a cellar, or even just a rack or a place where you keep your wines, OENO allows you to create a replica of your storage space so you can enjoy your wines at their best!
HOW IT WORKS
1. CREATE a virtual replica of your wine cellar(s)
2. SCAN labels and see detailed information about wines
3. MANAGE your collection and keep track of your bottles
4. PAIR wine & food. Get recommendations of wines from cellar to match your meals
5. BUY wines and restock your collection directly from the OENO app (Powered by Vivino Market).
WHY ‘OENO’?
The app is named OENO ('eno') after the Goddess of Wine. According to Greek mythology, Oeno was the great-granddaughter of Dionysus, God of the Grape Harvest and Winemaking, who gave her the power to transform water into wine.
‘Oeno’ (UK) is commonly used as a prefix for words semantically connected to wine such as in oenology, the study of wine – or oenophile, a wine lover.

Can’t get anything to work in this app. When I was finally able to add a cellar without an ‘oops something went wrong’ error (extremely helpful btw) I then couldn’t add any of the wines I scanned to the cellar. I can’t do anything with this app.
Getting there
This app has a lot of potential, but isn’t intuitive to use. It is difficult to get wines on to the Wishlist. I would prefer if I could click on Wishlist, then search for wines to add to it rather than some convoluted 10 step process to get it there.
As others have mentioned, the label scanner doesn’t work on the latest iPhone 14 pro. This isn’t the only app that has this issue where it doesn’t focus until you move right away.
The representation of the cellar is excellent, and the extended info on each wine is great. Looking forward to the future improvements.
No support
My entire collection got deleted, Customer Service never responded.
Editing bottles and or manually updating.
Great app but can’t add new bottles not listed manually.. sent email also for tech support.
Needs an update…
Was fairly happy with the app, relatively new user, but upgraded my phone to the new 14Pro, and the app cannot focus the camera on labels for scanning.
Checked camera app itself and that works fine, but the camera facility within this app will not focus.
Constantly have problem adding new wines
Latest update is annoying:
- multiscan i do not trust. Sometimes the third or fourth scan fails and then it loses EVERYTHING you entered in that series
- single scan forces you to add wine to your storage immediately. It used to let you add to unshelved, you could then scan everything one by one and then put it all in storage at the same time. Not any more - this is a backward step for the app IMO
- adding new wines - twice tonight (out of about 7 wine types added, so roughly one third of uses) the app has basically crashed - “oops! Something went wrong” error message. I’m left with a choice to either not add the wine to storage, or to mislabel it. Very poor user experience
After supposedly 17 years these seem very basic issues.
Cellar management at my fingertips
Outstanding cellar management system, all my important wine details including drinking window at my fingertips and very easy for editing.
Ok for tiny cellars you can hold in ya head
Impossible to use prior to latest update** of multi bottle select & move’. Two wine fridges. start with couple hundred wine. The virtual fridges are impressive but once loaded, there not the useful choices you should have look at your cellar. It auto prices every bottle, doesn’t give a total. Wine list would be handy, no such useful list worth printing or scrn shot and send to guests can be found
CHOOSE A WINE, select ‘white’ - lists all 63 btls, not the 5 variants in my cellar
Useful list on iPhone could do without the enormous bottle labels, maybe.
**seems like this is a new product? they either don’t know what people do with wine, OR what people normally do with databases
I could be totally wrong about everything, cause I never read the manual / instructions ……. NO WAIT no one does instructions for software these days …
Plan ahead
Great app that lets me see what I have and plan ahead without constantly opening my Vintec to check.
Ordinary
Very first wine I entered into my cellar, Hunter Red NSW, the app says it come from McLaren Vale in SA.
I don’t hold out hope for the remainder of my wine.
Took a dozen attempts on taking the photo.
The app doesn’t “landscape” so my iPad has to come out hardcover to be able to use it.
Clunky and cumbersome, if I could give it zero stars I would.
