The app itself is useful. It provides road closure, traffic, hazards and other info. Accessing traffic cameras is also useful (even though it would be helpful if they indicated which way the cameras were facing, so you could know which lanes were N/S or E/W). The only reason why I’m rating 4 stars is because of the pointless animations on the map and menu page that are distracting and detract from the app experience.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve encountered road closures on my way to and from work between Niagara Falls and Saint Catharines and this app has never once told me about a road closure. It is an utter waste of space on your phone.
Used it for a while and realized it is total waste of time and computer space. Just because you can , doesn’t mean you should. There are many good jobs outside of the computer industry that the developers should look at ie: truck driver, retail, food industry, etc.
This appt use to be able to see road or lane closures in Ontario but for some reason it has disappeared.
Great app for checking out current road conditions! I’ve found that it is very up to date and useful especially with the snow up north the past couple days. I also really enjoy that there are cameras that take photos of the road conditions so I can see what they look like before getting on the road!

Trash. Cameras don’t update or give live views in Windsor. Stupid app.
On another site I found that lanes of the 401 are closed for another three days from a week ago and this is no where on either the 511 website or app. The app also can’t seem to get out a co formation text so I could receive text alerts - I receive sms confirmation texts from other providers no problem and there is no troubleshooting help on this help. Just really useless…
This app is not easy to use! Right now there is a road closure but it won’t show. Also it says the roads are bare- when they are indeed covered in snow. I have no idea how to easy display a road closer? It should just come up- shouldn’t it? Also i try to add my favourite route and it keeps saying, name too long, when I only used 5 words. Very frustrating!
The 511 Ontario website has start and end dates for roadwork. The app only shows start dates.
