This is a native iOS user interface application for openHAB - an open source home automation system. The open Home Automation Bus (openHAB) project aims at providing a universal integration platform for all things around home automation. It is designed to be absolutely vendor-neutral as well as hardware/protocol-agnostic. openHAB brings together different bus systems, hardware devices and interface protocols. Supported technologies include KNX, Modbus, DMX, Philips Hue, PLCBus, Sonos, Plugwise, IHC/Elko, RFXCOM, Homematic, Koubachi, Pulseaudio, Samsung TV, Bluetooth, One-Wire, Novelan, Asterisk, generic serial devices and many others. It supports all openHAB features plus automatic discovery of your openHAB and remote connection back to your house over the Internet with my.openHAB service. openHAB is the integration and control point of your Smart Home. You will find openHAB at http://www.openhab.org/

No multiple OpenHAB locations??
The app is very stable and works brilliantly in fairness but one massive drawback and criticism is that it only supports and points to one OpenHAB installation pointing to only one server. If you wanted to monitor two locations or properties with two or more OpenHAB installations this app won’t support it?? Surely it wouldn’t be that complicated to have this feature and you could have a location profile? This feature is a definite must have!!
All good except…
Really good and solid App.
Only improvement would be to have more entries in the notification tab. That‘s limited to only 20 entries.
Appears dead
Just shows a blank screen and a search bar even in demo mode. Searching does nothing either.
Latest update not working with my Openhab 1 system
Latest update had broken this completely for me now. It just won't connect. Browser connection to my openhab server still working fine. I know in running an older version of the server but I bet I'm not the only one.
Complex but a good app!
Openhab isn't easy to setup but once it's working it's great!
Crashes incessantly
It connects once, but after that it crashes immediately on launch. The only way to recover is to delete the app and reinstall, then you get one connection again. Useless.
Broken
Text boxes don't work on iPad version so can't configure
OpenHAB - learning curve but worth it
OpenHAB is a lot of work to set up if you are not used to coding or hacking. Most people interested in computers will be able to get stuff up and running but it's not for non-technical people. Mind you, home automation probably only interests you if you are that way inclined.
Anyway, the app. I cannot praise this app highly enough. It's ROCK solid, horrendously customisable and flexible (all customisations are made through OpenHAB server). The app is a 'dumb' portal to your server configuration but this is ultimately a wonderful thing.
Onsite and remote transitioning is seamless, the app is lightning fast with no delays or glitches, and the interface is clean.
I've used the app daily for months now and have never experienced a single bug. How amazing is that?
All I can say to the developers is - please - don't change a thing!
Of course - upgrades are inevitable, but keeping this app working like a dream will be key to the growth of OpenHAB as a platform - as the glue that ties the world's connected homes together.
Long may this project continue!
