OMG I hope this never changes, I just found the only browser for iPad that works with chrome extensions to block trash, even on videos, and works incredibly fast!!!! I love you guys so much, and i love having the freedom to avoid phishing ads on every website ❤️ - please, never change this, and I wish you all the success with this wonderful app! (You definitely need to advertise it more, I just found about it because of 1 comment on Reddit)
I’ve tried everything and it wont let u download any extensions
Even Firefox does not have support its own extension on iOS. This one is a perfect browser for those who use extension a lot (especially uBlock Origin).
Thank you so much for making Orion, this will be my browser on iPad until non-webkit browsers start being allowed by Apple. It’s insanely cool that you guys got both firefox and chromium extensions working on webkit, and I’m really grateful that there exists a browser can actually use a competent content blocker on iOS. Thank you for your work and good luck.
Maybe even the most powerful browser ever considering it takes both desktop-spec Firefox and Chrome extensions, which raises a problem: Orion might be too powerful for iOS, no joke. Extensions does use resources, and once you start stacking up extensions like a tracker blocker, force dark mode, adblocker, userscript stuff, and especially with many webpages open, you’re eating up RAM fast and even WebKit might not be able to keep up. And iOS really doesn’t like it when something uses a lot of RAM But that won’t stop me from using it, can’t go back to safari and the fake Chrome/Firefox that’s still based on WebKit
It’s well and good to claim that extensions can be used and then for the majority of them to simply not function. Also the scroll smoothing in the extensions menu feels like a prank. Everything scrolls way to fast. It’s more of a reaction timer than a menu.
I really want to like this, but… it’s buggy as heck. “Navigate back” regularly gets pages into a stuck state, for instance.
Fantastic browser generally, many good user-focused features including the best reader mode of any browser. Only downside is it's a little unstable at times.
I love this app because I can use extensions and it has better features.
