Outdoorsy - Rent an RV

The search functions of the app don’t work.

We had booked a campervan on Maui over New Years, which was last minute canceled by the owner due to an unfortunates breakdown of the van with the previous renters. Outdoorsys customer service answered quickly and gave us the money back but there were no other equal cars available at similar conditions on such short notice. Outdoorsy declined to pay the difference to the now of course much higher priced rentals. We then had to cancel our flight and rearrange travel and we asked for support in finding other options not on outdoorsy. Again outdoorsy declines any support. Outdoorsy only offered a 75$ credit on their platform but no help otherwise, even though evidently there was noting similar they could offer. The customer service kept repeating the same lines. When planing a trip to high demand places, after this experience we recommend using a standard platform that has procedures in place to help out when things don’t work out.

First off the app itself is buggy at best. It rarely works. If you plan on renting your RV out thru outdoorsy don’t expect them to cover any damages. Our RV was damaged by a renter and we were told it wouldn’t be covered because the renter wouldn’t answer his phone.

For as long as this app has been around, I’m surprised at the amount of issues I’ve had with it. Currently I cannot log in because it will not send the 7 digit confirmation code required for security. I deleted and re-added the app from the AppStore, but now it tells me, “too many login attempts, wait a few minutes.” This has been going on all morning.

My husband and I love the app. We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to rent our RV on your site. The customer service is super. Katharina

Host filed claim and outdoorsy charged a second $500 security deposit 1 month after for $1000 total and their departments keep pushing me around without correcting problem.

Some host are horrible! Beware! Ask all the questions first! Outdoorsy only cares about the host not the renters point of view or issues!

First I would like to say the Owners were very nice and welcoming! Nothing like dealing with friendly folks. Now the camper was everything we needed and more. They had it set up with all the essentials we needed. We would definitely rent from them again. Thank you so much! The George’s

Received a van with two bald tires, but did not realize until almost 1000 miles away from home. Customer service has been very slow in responding to the issues we had. Will update when I know more.
