Not working

The app is not working. It forces Touch ID activation when trying to log in with password, then won’t let me login either way. Says I tried too many times, and to try again later. The site works fine.

Questionable owners

Been trying to book an RV for weeks but no one replies. Last year was easy and this year, what happened? Multiple reservations expired. Edited: a friend of mine used it to rent an RV. Not only the owner was racist but with very minor damages, he was charged 1000$ and Outdoorsy’s internal insurance didn’t help much. Be careful.

junk app will freeze while attempting to message the renter every time. you’ll most definitely need to get the unit owners phone number in case issues arise or you’re on your own to figure it out.

Poor customer service. Over charged. Problems with the app

We booked an RV and paid for it to be delivered and picked up. Despite paying for the deliver option, Outdoorsy charged us $45.00 for roadside assistance. I attempted to resolve it with Outdoorsy through the app 3 times. The first time I chose the email method, waited a week and still received no response. The 2nd time I went through chat in the app. The operator, Jimena D., indicated they were getting help from their support team and needed a few minutes. I continued to wait. Eventually the operator just left the chat. For my 3rd attempt I went through the chat and waiting again for an operator. This time I got Darl. Darl acknowledged that charging me for roadside was an error but refused to refund it. Next year we’ll be trying one of the other rental companies.

Forget about the app. Just don’t use this company

This company seemed great at first. If things go wrong, initially they seem like all they want to do is help. But they do nothing to make sure the vehicle’s on their site run well or are even safe. The vehicle I rented had rusted out wheel wells, couldn’t steer well because the steering column joint was being held together with wire. The owner originally said he would give a refund, but then refused. In the dispute process through Outdoorsy, in spite of the pictures I sent they sided with the owner. Their reason for doing so was because the owner sent them a blurry copy of a safety inspection report. Problem is the year and vin on the inspection wasn’t the same as the vehicle I rented. Outdoorsy did nothing to follow up to make sure the document was legitimate. And they obviously didn’t have anyone look at the photos I sent. CVSE took one look at the photos and said the vehicle shouldn’t be on the road. I sent that info to outdoorsy, but they’ve done nothing. They offered me a quarter of what I spent for a vehicle that lasted 20km.

Cannot book

I’ve been trying since summer of 2021 and still haven’t been able to book a rental. All my requests keep getting declined by the owners. Outdoorsy needs to make changes so that renters have an easier time booking

Do not rent unless you want to give away your deposit

My deposit was taken from me by the owner of the RV at their discretion with no photos or explanation , the RV owner has the right to keep your deposit and Outdoorsey will do nothing to get it back or mediate . I have not heard from outdoorsey support for a month and they said they would investigate and get back to me in 3 days. Make sure to factor in the deposit to your total trip costs because you have no say in getting it back .

Cannot see confirmed trips on app

When on the app version I cannot see my messages or confirmed trips. I can only view this information on the website. Needs to be fixed.
