ABOUT PARALLELS DESKTOP
Parallels Desktop is a powerful virtual desktop Mac application that enables users to run Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems and applications on their Mac with Intel or Apple silicon chips.
Parallels Desktop makes this possible through desktop virtualization, utilizing software technology to create a virtual machine (VM).
This VM functions as a virtual PC within your Mac, allowing you to install and operate operating systems just as they would on a physical computer.
If you enjoy using Parallels Desktop or have an idea you'd like to share with us, please leave a review.

DISCLAIMER
It is not recommended that existing Parallels Desktop on the Standard or Pro version users move to Parallels Desktop App Store Edition. Learn more: https://kb.parallels.com/en/123796.

If Virtualbox and UTM are free, why isn't Parallels? Yeah I know their is a free trial, but it's too short

Works well and fast on macbook air m1. Wish it had directx12 support/emulation. Price might feel steep, but I normally upgrade laptop every 2-3 years. Im technically gettings windows on better hardward for cheaper. Its safer being on a mac and much easier to use in conjunction with my macos.

Not as easy as I'd hoped...

Running an M2 Mac Mini and was missing my Dragon dictation software. Decided I'd give this route a shot and so far it's just a non-starter. I can't get my bluetooth headset to connect (Windows doesn't recognize any bluetooth capabillties) and even my USB microphone and webcam just show up as USB devices vs. a microphone or camera (so, I can't select them as default mic from within Dragon). I can't fathom how complicated it must be to create something like Parallels... I was so impressed at how easy things were to start and within minutes I had a window running Windows 11 pro. So, that bit is super cool. It just seems to be quite hamstringed and unusable for what I'd hoped to use it for.

Helps to connect to college networks

Sometimes some courses in my class require business PC software that require Windows. This makes the process a lot easier to use on the mac.

Worth the money

I tried virtualbox and utm. Virtualbox gave me issues with shared folders and froze regularly. Utm couldn't run a visual studio code python plugin for some reason. Both had problems that were just beyond my level of expertise and patience to resolve. Parallels Desktop gave me no issues, and it is fast! And I can use windows OS full screen with no black margins on the side, as if Windows was native to my mac. It is a pleasure to use parallels desktop. A PLEASURE.

Good

I am using this for my college use and so far i love this app. The only problem that i face sometimes is that it is not able to run all x64bit applications. Because i am having apple silicon chip in my macbook.
