Partly Sunny has been featured by Apple, MacStories, AppAdvice, and Lifehacker.
Partly Sunny “introduces a robust, beautiful new way to view weather information. […] What’s immediately striking about Partly Sunny’s design is that it feels designed to belong in iOS. It’s an app that feels built by Apple if the company decided to make a massive iterative change to its own stock Weather app.” – Jake Underwood, MacStories
“If you are looking for minimalism in your weather app, then Partly Sunny will satisfy your cravings. […] Partly Sunny offers the information you need in a concise and flexible way.” – Christine Chan, AppAdvice

Must have weather app and widget but Dark Sky not reliable
Must have weather app and widget
It has loads of features especially the precipitation in % and amount is superb! I mainly use the detailed widget.
What it definitely could use:
- more weather sources since Dark Sky isn’t accurate as far as precipitation is concerned in my area in the Netherlands.
Would love to pay some good money (subscription) for this additional feature to have alternative weather source(s) especially for precipitation such as: MeteoGroup (accurate in Europe, my favorite), Accu Weather, Foreca, ClimaCell, YR, Weatherbit, Openweathermap, WeatherOps, Aeris Weather, ColorfulClouds.
- minute by minute rain forecast in the whole of the Netherlands within the widget.
Partly sunny
Super wel done
Extremely needs suiting!
I’ve been a Partly Sunny user for years now, and while there’s been some quirky downtime (particularly around weather sources, if I recall correctly), Joe’s always been responsive via email/social media and gets an update up relatively quick.
Once “Check The Weather” stopped working, Partly Sunny’s been my go-to. It’s not something I use during severe (midwest) storms, but day-to-day it’s the only one I actually like looking at, the only one that’s not grating to use, and it doesn’t insult my intelligence.
(I *wish* this was a paid review, but I just like the app)
Quit working
Seems to be common problem with many. I used this app for years and loved it. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled but still won’t work.
Feed still broken
Is there a plan to fix this app?
Weather feed is broken
As others have mentioned this used to be the best weather app but now it shows “there was an error getting the forecast” for all locations. It’s been like this for well over a week with no updates from the dev. I guess it’s time to move on 😟.
Doesn’t work anymore
Bought this a while back, and it used to be five stars. Now it doesn’t show the forecast at all, like other users report. And I miss it, too - hope it gets fixed.
Used to be great now never works
So sad. Used to be my go to weather app. For the past few weeks whenever I try to load it I get a message that says “Error getting the forecast”. I tried to go to the developers site for help but the security certificate lapsed and I keep getting a message “site not safe”. I hope they fix it but the more time that goes by the less hopeful I am.
Dead app?
This app seems to be dead. It used to be one of the best weather apps in the App Store, but the dev has gotten lazier and lazier over time. It hasn’t been updated in more than a year, and even when he was updating it, no new features (like widgets for example) were being added.
Now, as others have stated it only displays an error message when trying to view the weather.
Time to move on.
Good riddance Partly Sunny.
Recently broke for many users
Our 5 family devices now get a “There was an error getting the forecast” message. Checked with a few others and they’re getting it too.
