Joe, the developer, does not seem to care about this app anymore. No widgets, no dark mode icons, no meaningful improvement in years, etc. Also he doesn’t communicate with any of his users. It’s a real shame too since it’s a great app. Time to find a new weather app.
No widget option for IOS 18
I used to really enjoy this app. You cannot add this app as a widget anymore. I’ve reached out for support but haven’t received a response!
Need improvements.
Beautifully designed widget would be nice.
Still My Favorite
After all these years using and loving this weather app, I’m happy to say, it’s still my favorite! I buy the in-app purchase more to support the developer than for the additional features, which is a serious endorsement because I’ve rarely ever done that.
Simple, clean, easy to read, with everything I want and nothing I don’t. Thanks!
Extremely needs suiting!
I’ve been a Partly Sunny user for years now, and while there’s been some quirky downtime (particularly around weather sources, if I recall correctly), Joe’s always been responsive via email/social media and gets an update up relatively quick.
Once “Check The Weather” stopped working, Partly Sunny’s been my go-to. It’s not something I use during severe (midwest) storms, but day-to-day it’s the only one I actually like looking at, the only one that’s not grating to use, and it doesn’t insult my intelligence.
(I *wish* this was a paid review, but I just like the app)
Quit working
Seems to be common problem with many. I used this app for years and loved it. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled but still won’t work.
Feed still broken
Is there a plan to fix this app?
Weather feed is broken
As others have mentioned this used to be the best weather app but now it shows “there was an error getting the forecast” for all locations. It’s been like this for well over a week with no updates from the dev. I guess it’s time to move on 😟.
Doesn’t work anymore
Bought this a while back, and it used to be five stars. Now it doesn’t show the forecast at all, like other users report. And I miss it, too - hope it gets fixed.
Used to be great now never works
So sad. Used to be my go to weather app. For the past few weeks whenever I try to load it I get a message that says “Error getting the forecast”. I tried to go to the developers site for help but the security certificate lapsed and I keep getting a message “site not safe”. I hope they fix it but the more time that goes by the less hopeful I am.
