I reviewed the wrong app. This is the one I use

PCalc is the new app I use vs PowerOne that is a subscription not worth it.

Best Calculator on the AppStore, just one complaint.

(the developer response was correct it was totally my fault, I missed that setting, thank you!) Easily the best calculator for iPad that money can buy, I just wish that the setting for the thousands separator worked as intended. Currently if you select “commas” to separate every 3 consecutive digits, the app never actually does it. It’s my only gripe considering I work in aviation, long numbers are common & I dont like seeing long strings of numbers without anything to separate them, they all just start to blend together. If I’m doing something wrong please let me know.

Terrible calculator for the price

I got this calculator years ago but deleted it because I didn’t like it. I downloaded it again to give it another try but still left disappointed. The iPhone is much more powerful than a Casio scientific calculator yet this app acts like an HP calculator made 20 years ago and doesn’t work as efficiently as a Casio calculator built in the last 5 years. I cannot input long calculations in one go, you must input everything one register at a time which is time consuming and outdated. Also the calculations are very limited. If the fraction has a square root then the answer will be either given in decimal or an approximated fraction instead of an exact value with the square root still intact in the answer. Also the multiline support is very limited. I can’t show my previous calculations except on the outdated tape mode instead of displaying it right on the multiline display like a normal modern Casio calculator. Furthermore, unless I specifically go into complex mode and input data in an inefficient way I can’t do complex calculations. Typing in root(-1) results in an error instead of the calculator outputting “i” like it should. While this layout and methodology might have been impressive 20 years ago, it is very lacking in our modern time and fails to properly utilize the power of modern smartphone processors and massive memory availability. Note: I am better used to the interface now, and while it takes more input time for long calculations, it’s still quite handy in its own way. I changed my rating to 4 stars

The money spent for the pro version of this is worth every penny. I use this all the time. Anything from basic calculator use to conversions to formulas… the conversions are great - always need to convert length, volume, mass. I’m glad the ipad never came with a calculator - otherwise I wouldn’t have bought this - and I use it all the time on the iphone.

Indispensable

Bought this on iOS as well as the Mac. This program is as close to flawless as I’ve seen any program be.

Best Calc I’ve ever seen

This app can do pretty much anything that the good old HP15C or 28S can do. The only function you might want that isn’t there is graphing capability, but frankly I don’t actually want that. I’ve used this for years and nothing else I’ve seen comes close!

Simply Superb in what it does

Seldom have I come across a program of any type which can be called "Excellent', but this is the real deal. Throw out your TI, your HP, your Casio. PCalc magically transforms your phone into a state-of-the-Art customizable calculator. For all your calculating needs, be it simple, scientific, or computer science. Yes, it might be nice to have business/finance functions. But I just love this program for what it does, and at an extremely reasonable one-time cost. You can't go wrong. It even has a really handy widget for the iPad. I love it!

Best calculator app

vantelimus on

This is the best calculator app around. It is a combination of a good engineering/scientific calculator and a programmer’s calculator. The stack and RPN features are familiar and comfortable if you are accustomed to HP calculators. The app on Mac and iPhone work the same ways. It is nice to have the same app, regardless of whether I’m using the phone, pad, desktop, or laptop.
