Highly Useful and Informative 👍
I found this app about a year ago via /r/sugarfree on Reddit. Besides trying to avoid sugar, it has helped me identify harmful products that will send me straight to the can. As I further explore how to improve my nutrition and learn about harmful ingredients such as soy lecithin, maltodextrin, etc, this app’s filtering makes it easier to spot and the possible side effects that that ingredient will possibly do to me. For instance, when I scan a product and have no idea what ‘sucralose’ is, the app will tell me to ‘avoid’ and state what category it is- such as artificial sweetener / high lectin. I wish this app added the option where you could build your own personalized bank or list of ingredients you selectively wish to avoid as I do not know how extensive each category for the diets available on the app are. I would like to know what is included in each one as I discover more scientific papers and research studies about harmful chemicals companies create. I am diving further into what will contribute to “brain fog” on top of spikes in energy levels, emotional stressors, and other responses to food your body makes. It is too unrealistic to completely cut out everything in our modern diets and eat strictly untouched and untampered with vegetables 24/7 so a personalized avoidance bank would certainly help when you want to make exceptions in an inconvenient world. On that note, this app is astounding and helpful. There is a lot of potential and I look forward to it’s growth. I highly recommend for anyone trying to become more conscious about their health, what they consume, or for anyone who has to adhere to a strict diet due to disease / other limitations. This app’s design has a straightforward interface and is a great staple as part of your go-to apps.
