All chords and scales can be played ascending, descending, and harmonically and are shown on virtual piano and staff. The root note and inversion of the chords can easily be changed. App also includes a song composer that allows you to easily layout chord progressions and recommends chords based on selected scales.

I'm a piano teacher of 15 years and have more and more students who want to play chords and improvise. This app is a perfect resource for them. I like it because it's thorough but, at the same time, straightforward.
I am new to piano and familiar with some scales and chord progressions, but this app will help me to understand and explore various combinations. I pair this app with additional learning material online to help me fully understand the math/science behind music.
This app is excellent for understanding scales, chords, chord progressions, and the circle of fifths. I like the easy-to-use interface. It only includes standard scales and chords. I have another app with many complicated and confusing scales that I've never heard of, much less can pronounce. I just wanted something to show me the standard scales and chords, which this app does. It also sounds like a chord or scale.
It gives you so much when you’re stuck composing. I’m relatively new to music theory, and this makes everything I’ve been learning about chords super clear.
I have taught piano for 33 years. This is the best app for any level of the student. It is so easy to use; kids love it when I use the iPad in their lessons.

Confusing, won’t let me ummm… (something) I can’t explain it.

Really worth the money

Wow, so good! Very useful as I learn and I can see it will continue to be useful as I continue to learn and play. Great quality. Now a few months have passed and the usefulness of the app increased. Highly recommended.

Has everything for scales and chords

Fantastic app. Very practical without the excess stuff musicians will not need. Recommend the pro version to unlock all the scales. Great writing up chord progressions. All it needs is a manuscript writing feature.

A magic piano book

This app is a brilliant learning tool. The new scale practice mode is super useful, I will use it for hours as I sit in front of the piano. It saves you from hunting for poor quality web pages and YouTube videos. Highly recommended for learning piano, as well as for songwriters and producers.

It was very very good with this awesome app but it would be better if it could hear the sounds from my piano and help me along.

Life saver in rehearsals

Even after years of playing I struggle to remember every chord and their inversions. This with the full chord set sits on the side of my keys and is a constant companion. Equally useful is the reverse feature. I play blues and some chords from muscle memory. Is great to be able to spell them out so I can tell the horns and guitars what I’m playing. I’m theory trained so could do this the hard way but this is sooo much easier. A superb tool.
