Piano Marvel Reviews

Don’t subscribe if you just want to check the app

grmli on

Canada

I have subscribed to check the app, unfortunately it didn’t meet my criteria. I have unsubscribed and deleted the app the same day but they still charged me for the month subscription. I have filled a refund request but it was rejected- Apple support couldn’t provide an explanation why refund was rejected

Simply piano should take notes.

I like it😇 But it’s expansive 🤨😞☹️😔😣🥺

No bad, but every update is a step back.

Updated review They just introduced customizable practices where the user can pick exactly which notes to practice in a piece - it THE BEST new feature they’ve added in the two years I’ve been a member! And it seems they’ve added some vocals to the accompanying track in some pieces, which is a less important, but nice touch. Well done! There are still a few annoyances I have with the program: the practice mode bar line jumps to the note that hasn’t been played, which can be confusing in terms of timing when the player is still supposed to be playing the current note - There should be an option to have the current note lit up only.

Need a midi piano

SebRiv on

Canada

The app does not work using the microphone of the iPad, it needs a midi connection. Quite deceiving. The app navigation is confusing and the “self-assessed” tests are quite pointless when not using a midi keyboard. I tried and uninstalled within an hour. 2023 disserves better solutions.

Good, but could be great

Johan 77553 on

This review is for ios which lacks some features when compared to the PC version. The Good: - Great feedback while practicing to get a sense of where you made mistakes and how to improve. - Great curriculum for learning technique, method, songs and to practice sightreading. - Music is presented closer to the real thing compared to other scrolling music software that doesn't help you to learn how to play an actual piece of music from sheets of paper. - Metronome built in. - Breaks songs up into small pieces you can practice individually. The Bad: - No loop functionality to continuously practice a tricky part. - Cannot select smaller section of a piece to practice in isolation on ios like you can on PC. - Too much animation and effects that just take up time and break the flow of practice. - No support for controlling the app via the piano keys. One has to constantly fiddle with the touch screen. With 88 keys at my fingertips, some shortcuts for start, stop, next, back etc. would be nice. How about using one of the lesser used pedals, or far right key, or some demented chord to switch between play mode and a navigate mode? - Slow response time for most interactions. It doesn't feel snappy or fluid like native application. It's as if every interaction has to go over the internet instead of using local resources. - All the above contributes to make the practice session feel like you are spending more time on your iPad than on your piano. Overall, it is a good piano app, my favorite so far, but it could be great.

Please revert to the old player controls

jjj1511 on

Hi - with the new player controls, we can’t see tempo, completion rates and scroll through measures in a clear way. This degrades the experience and makes it harder that it used to be. Otherwise 5 star app and hopefully will be able to update my review soon

No Metronome sound

Bach72 on

Hard to practice piano without a metronome sound. iOS app connects to my Roland piano no problem, but there's no metronome sound. I only hear my piano. What good is that??

Amazing tool for learning piano

michael s walker on

Canada

I have tried a few other platforms to learn piano, none of them actually show you how to read music or understand music theory, you just learn to recognize patterns. if you want to have perfection in the way you learn I would highly recommend getting this app it is simply amazing.

ITS HARD DOOD
